Laying there wondering if your life is worthwhile.
Wondering what would happen if you suddenly died. 
Where would your friends be. 
Why.
Do you know that feeling?
Alone in the dark. 
Listening to all the sounds
Including the beat of your heart. 
And if it didn't start.
Could you feel it.
There once was a time 
When pain was my friend
That tears were my comfort
That I wished for the end
There once was a time
I thought my smile was fake
That I lived just to live, just for living's sake
There once was a time, 
I never cared
But that time is over
I care to be here
To hear the rain falling down
To see the snow melting on the ground
To listen to all of the sounds
Including my heart beating
My son's breathing
The circle of life
Keeps repeating.
There once was a time
When I never felt happy
The journey's a long one
But I'm finally free.
I'm finally me.
