MAQ is a native Inglewood, California emcee, providing the LA underground hip hop scene, and the online music community, with an avant garde musical style that speaks to the experiences of  Generation Y. MAQ derives his contemporary style from his own personal experiences and musical influences such as Nas, Jay-Z, Eminem and Kendrick Lamar.
 
Currently awaiting the release of his mixtape DICHOTOMY this fall, MAQ is gearing up to reveal his best work yet. DICHOTOMY combines powerful lyrical expression with poetic flow and melodic instrumentals to deliver a sound that will prove to be an LA classic. This project is centered around the complex battle over giving in or overcoming struggle and temptation, representing a dark side of a man trying to find his light and the complex relationships that derive from that struggle.
