For this episode and for the followings, I wanted to give the floor to some artists I admire and respect a lot. I believe everyone has ideas, a voice, opinions they want to fight for. I believe we can aspire for a better future world through music. Today, I have invited @puremulato to record a Mixing for a Cause podcast.

Montreal born and raised DJ & Producer Syana (PureMulaTo) comes through with a mix of tracks selected from her previous live last sets in June and July. Wanting to push the idea that techno is inherently a black form of art, this set mostly consists of newly released tracks from black artists. She came into the queer club community at 17 years old, finding escape from her toxic neighbourhood in the city. Now 19, she is redefining her sets sounds and have set her foot in many of the clubs in the city.

Pure MulaTo : “The Virus that kills black trans women

The world has been fighting a pandemic lately and it has made all of us have to change our lives in some way or another due to the danger… Well, trans woman have had to fight a virus for way longer, and it seems it’s really hard to find the cure; TRANSPHOBIA. Transphobia is a disease that has cost too many lives, and it seems the world doesn’t even want to recover from this plague. Aja Raquell Rhone-Spears was the last victim of violent acts, in Portland. As I write this on August 5th 2020, the USA has had 26 murders this year. May all the souls of the beautiful fem queens that shaped the culture of today rest peacefully.

Reposting a post on your instagram story simply isn’t enough… Donate, sign and share all informations where the money & resources go directly to black trans women. Hire and give positions to the girls if you are in a position to do that. Trans Women won’t be able to change their narrative without your help, and discrimination in work setting, and all settings have to end.”
