Today, God gave me some visions from the past. When I was a kid, I remembered waiting for hours for our weekly catechism classes in my former church. I was very zealous back then and I never missed a class. That day, I waited only to find out that there's no class on that day. But I saw some kids in there so I stayed. It was the children's choir. To cut it short, I jumped from catechism classes to being a choir member. And that's how I came to know Jesus in a deeper way - through music. I was in love with music and the first song I memorized as a child is "Mahal Ako Ni Kristo". I will sing it whenever there's a chance - even when I'm lying on my bed. Years passed and I am here finding myself singing for Jesus again. I will say that so many things happened to me that is equivalent to turning my back on my first loves - Jesus and music. But God had always been the God of love. He is love. He rescued me back from the darkness and filth where I was before. I was literally at a lost despite of the many things I have accomplished in my life. The stories we have heard and read are for real. Without God, all of those achievements are meaningless.

In the year 2012, God gave me a chance to sing for Him again. He allowed me to pass the auditions to become a part of the Music Ministry of my current church, Victory Ortigas. Just when I thought that music is not really for me, God knew me better than I do and He gave me the delights of my heart as I delighted in Him.

In this song, I was literally crying. I couldn't help but be thankful for the many things God had given me and for the vision that He allowed me to remember today. It was a long long time ago and I don't know why that memory resurfaced. But all the pieces in the puzzle are starting to get together and everything starts to make sense.

Jesus is my God and I will rise when He calls my name. No more sorrow, no more pain. My prayer is that may you find Him too. Or rather, may He find you. So stop hiding and come into light. Let yourself be found and when you sing this song. I assure you, you'll never be able to fight the tears too.
