Based out of Reading, UK - Masquerader is a math-punk band born of the gentrifier nightmare / cultural wasteland of the London commuter belt, filtering the rhythmic dissent of math rock through the ferocious intensity of post-hardcore. 

Making an early choice to skip lead guitars, we embrace a sparse and stripped-back dynamic as a three-piece. Filling the sonic void with angular electronics and forefronting incisive bass guitar, complex drumwork and breakneck vocal delivery - finding inspiration in acts like Show Me the Body, Death Grips, Rolo Tomassi, Glassjaw, Deftones, Mclusky and Helmet. 

DIY to the core, Masquerader has been in a constant grind, carving out a scene in our Reading hometown under 'Nothing Will Change Events' whilst spreading a unique noise pollution across SE England. That gathering momentum has led to shared stages with CLT DRP, Death Goals, Bob Vylan, Poly-Math and The Byker Grove Fan Club, plus an early place on Small Pond Records' Emerging Artists project, which has featured break-outs such as Lambrini Girls and El Moono.

Our EP NOTHING WILL CHANGE is the first full Masquerader release. A self-produced document of our early days, harnessing the energy of sweaty gigs in gloomy rooms into an assault of cynical introspection and social criticism. Out Now.
