Defected regular OFFAIAH returns to the imprint with ‘Private Show’, his latest dose of expansive, club-focussed house, after storming hits ‘Soldier’, ‘Work It Out’ and ‘Push Pull’ ignited dancefloors across the globe. Kicking off with his Re-Edit, where a deep wandering bassline, swelling pads and tension building drops provide a groove-led backdrop to the seductive vocal. Up next, NYC’s Moon Rocket steps up to remix, taking a stripped-back approach with industrial synth stabs and ambient breaks, married with a deepened vocal. Finally, OFFAIAH’s original version rounds off the release, where we see the producer flexing his musical muscles by exploring new sounds and tech-leaning influences, producing a cut undoubtedly destined for main room raving. Doing what he does best, ‘Private Show’ really shows how OFFAIAH has been honing his production abilities, as he provides a range of stellar mixes that cater for a range of dancefloor dispositions.

One half of iconic British duo Basement Jaxx, Felix Buxton and vocalist Gia made their debut on Defected as Selace back in 2018. The record, ‘So Hooked On Your Lovin’ immediately struck a chord with dancefloors across the globe, laden with lingering organ chords and stunningly raw vocals, proving less is more with the minimalist yet stunning piece of work. Now, Gorgon City take on remix duties, working their magic on the release to produce a captivating, club-ready version brimming with peak-time feels. Weaving in atmospheric builds, an irresistibly deep bassline and swirling synths there is no doubting the duo’s capabilities for producing dancefloor weapons, but it’s the blissful moments of serenity and artful use of Gia’s powerful vocal stabs that make this one of Gorgon City’s most sophisticated remixes yet.

Making for a formidable pairing, the London born-and-bred DJ and actor has forged a rich studio relationship with the legendary Detroit group, fronted by techno pioneer Kevin Saunderson with his son, Dantiez, as well as the latest addition to the group vocalist Steffanie Christi’an. With a chugging bassline, expressive piano chords and soaring pads, Christi’an’s velvety vocal brims with soul and emotion. Teased on Idris’ Defected Virtual Festival set which has been viewed over 1 million times, this sought-after cut has an unwavering groove that is begging to be heard on the dancefloor.
