Bad Like We Ft. Peppery

At Raw Tactics, we take great pleasure in exploring explosive new underground dance music, combining elements of grime, garage, dubstep and everything in between as often as we can. This time around we welcome back the enigmatic sounds of our very own Tigs, who delivers two absolute bombshells that we can’t wait to unveil.

Over the years we have seen the Tigs sound take on many different avenues, again
drawing elements from all different areas of the UK underground dance sector. These two originals are a great example of those styles being merged as we open up the project with ‘Real Thing’. This one takes a eski-style cello line across it’s introduction, immediately driving the mood down a grimey avenue, with skippy 2-stepper drums then arriving to reforge these sounds into a potent garage bubbler, topped with gnarly synth sounds and resonant FX behind.

Next, we take a peek at ‘Flatline’, a very valid b-side that again opens our eyes to the multi-influence driven road we find Tigs on. This one takes a much more typically garage approach, utilizing heart monitor beeps and dissonant pad sweeps to create an eerie atmosphere. This unearthly feeling is then shattered as warbling reesey LFO’s and intense synth arpeggios are let loose upon the drop, giving us a very tasty secondary weapon.

Both of these originals will hold some serious weight in the dance, with Tigs again
proving both his quality and versatility.

Real Thing / Flatline

Tigs is back with brand new garage single ‘On Seen’ (ft. Emy Zaluzna). The Melbourne
based producer and DJ has dropped a vibrant summer- inspired track which he describes as
a “sultry 2-step roller”. After wanting to create a “dark 2 step female vocal” for a while, Tigs
took inspiration from producer EL-B and MJ Cole, and constructed the track.
Tigs is a highly regarded music producer and DJ hailing from the UK. He has established
himself as a pioneering figure in the experimental underground dance music scene. His
unique sound blending elements of grime, garage and bass has earned him recognition both
locally and internationally. After previously being named ‘Track Of The Week by Radio 1’ and
being supported by 1xtra, Kiss FM and Rinse FM, Tigs is back again with his latest single
and lots of music to come in 2023.
‘On Seen’ features the talented Emy Zaluzna, who unleashes a nostalgia-inducing
combination of sweet vocal melodies and groovy rhythmic prowess. The vocals lie smoothly
on top of the garage infused beat and compliment the track. ‘On Seen’ is a perfect upbeat
summer anthem.

We are once again back in the explosive Raw Tactics camp, for another explosive release, this time entering into an experimental drill zone for a fiery collaboration. We see the ever-ready vocals of Goldfinger join forces with label-founder Tigs, who provides us with a twisted instrumental showcasing, fusing mysterious, eastern strings and booming 808 basslines for a tremendous showdown of sonic wizardry.

Goldfinger however is the real star of the show on this one, as we find ourselves under siege from a barrage of bombshell 8 bar structures, insighting potent metaphors and catchy rhythmic displays to give us a real singalong bop from start to finish. Despite being a slightly shorter original, this one packs a hell of a punch and the fusion of eastern melody with grimey vocals works an absolute treat.

This is the latest in a long run of heavy hitters from the Raw Tactics camp, with the spearheaded vision of Tigs continuing to drive the label further forward around the globe.

A serious 4x4 thumper, fusing together a lethal combination of hard hitting bass and high energy drum work with slick style glueing everything together. Both artists known for their hard hitting production style and have combined with some real flare on this one, giving a punchy weapon that is going to cause a ruckus across many a dancefloor.

Taking the title ‘Wreck It’, we see the two veteran soundsmiths forge together flute-driven wonder-ride, exploring a much more old school arrangement of heavyweight percussion and skulking sublow bass sweeps. Reminiscent of early My Nu Leng style breaks, this is a heavyweight weapon, packed to the rafters with unique rhythmic ideas and melodic patterns, giving us a very creative feel throughout.
