December the 17th meet Brighton-based artist and producer - Chemical Play to deliver his two-tracks release to IAMT!

A two track release of contrasting form, Chemical Play's 'Illusions' opens with contemporary Acid Techno, curtesy of the Roland 303 & Moog Subsequent 25 hardware in a dual lead. 

'Make Me Wait' although drummed heavier, is a much deeper dive due to more tones designed on the low-end focused Moog. 

Inspiration comes always from experimentation, with no particular role-model. Chemical Play believes that the only way to define oneself, is to refine oneself.

Spanish DJ/producer Pablo Say has impressed already with a strong of quality techno flavoured releases for labels such as Codex Recordings, Unrilis and Numen.  On the ‘Freak Out’ EP, a trio of tight and utilitarian tracks are served up on Eats Everything & Andres Campo’s EI8HT imprint.

A hustling groove is set on ‘Freak Out’, as a taut bassline and steely hats propels this stabby banger forth, its vocal motif perforating the vigorous arrangement.  ‘Light On’ is built upon a similar aesthetic, as surging FX’d synths inject into an industrious vox lead cut.  Concluding the release, ‘Ninja’ fires out of the starting blocks in earnest, as a distorted melody line couples up with an unfurling modular riff, anchored by another top-drawer rhythm and arrangement.

From being label mates on Drumcode to becoming studio partners was only a matter of time for Adam Beyer and Joseph Capriati. That time finally came when they found themselves with some downtime in Stockholm following the Drumcode Christmas party. Having shared the DJ booth on many occasions, often playing back-2-back sessions, the pair have proven the musical connection between them is a potent one. Title track, Congenial Endeavor sums up this bond, not just in meaning but also by the resolute yet emotive styling of the content, which treads a line between the playful melodies, and primal rhythms that characterize the music of both producers. Rubicon operates within a similar ballpark, delivering hard for those seeking bombastic techno while also making room for a little cerebral depth via the intricately structured atmospherics. Family Matters provides an alternative angle; slowing the BPM’s, working up a warm, hypnotic bassline and teasing out strings to create a low-slung groover that oozes late-night wonkiness.

Mark Fanciulli's contribution 'Back to Front' incorporates vocal phrases and undertones of a melodic bass line to create a track that is functionally creative. Sinisa Tamamovic's track 'Big Night' is functional and uses sporadic synths to create tension whilst the repetitive bass line carries the track through. Marco Effe's 'Underclock' incorporates syncopated rhythms and sparse percussion to create a tripped out record. Philip Bader steps up to present his track, 'Sky Walk' that uses melodic bass pads and bleeps to create a shuffling rhythm. Emerson Todd's input uses a heavy analogue sounding bass line and synth stabs to create a track to keep the masses moving. Animal Trainer have provided a record which, uses melodic rhythms to create a groovy track.
