Day Seven - Humble Freestyle

I walked out the door 
And saw one, two, three little birds… 

This moment was special 
Because it instilled these words 

“Don’t worry about a thing, 
because every little thing
is gonna be alright.”

It was these words I held tight
And they remained
when I didn’t have sight
Like a dim light to see through the fog 
I had just enough to go on 
And yet the tap root endured 
All at the start of His word
Because He has us
In His hand
On His mind
It’s His plan 
To intertwine 
Our life with His
Igniting in a bouquet of trust
Carrying the sweet aroma of His love 
Wrapped in promises to care for all of our needs
the every little things
That He loves to meet 
Just like seeds we see providing these little birds feed
He places them gently at the soles of your feet 
Awaiting your reception 
His eyes gleam with anticipation 
Consumed with your reaction 
He’s filling the room with Himself 
just to show You He is never lacking
on attention toward you. 

So today, I pray 
that a little bird 
would send you word 
of His present for you. 

Unfolded to produce 
A reminder that remains 
His love never wanes 
It’s always abounding 
And confounding our thoughts of not 
He continues His plot 
To win our number one spot 

His present for you is present and true
and His presence is proof  
To show you the truth 
that His most precious present 
is you.

It Is A Tree of Life

There’s a place where you can’t just pretend 
Your heart doesn’t lie and it doesn’t quite lend 
Itself to the grit and bare kind of air 
It knows the difference between the real deal and the counterfeit 
So when the counter is spent 
It’s got nothing left 
But a faint cry and a memory of breath
This is the place of the hope less…

And yet… here is where the Author fashions another title 
The Finisher of our faith 
Because in the beginning of ten ten is only one fate 
However, the end, my friend 
Is one of good news 
The kind that doesn’t need or desire to press the snooze 

Because it’s already carrying the dream 
The Seed 
Planted deep 
In the hearts of those that know 
Way way low in their soul 
That He is good and He gives good gifts to His children 

That thing buried there is at war with all of the villains 
the fear, the lies and the shame 
That so violently rages to rewrite our pages 

penned by the King, line by line, dipped in the very blood that dripped and ripped the vail!!! 

For each and every one of us to walk in the abundant life that Christ wired into our cells, infinitely unique like melody and soliloquy He wrote this opus for each of us to sing allowing it to ring forth like vibrant trees sprouting from our hearts … watered by the depths of His river bursting forth from our bellies… we drink from Him…  reversing all of the strife… for when the desire comes… it is a tree of life.”
