Houston is known for its southern grit, and small town-big city vibe, setting trends for the Southwest region. H-Town natives will argue that DRIP (in the sense of hip hop culture) originated there, so it's fitting that 4 local talents, including 2 of Apex Predator’s hottest artists came together to lay down the blueprint for standout artist Water’s newest single, “Drip”. 

Produced by Apex beatmaker Gizz, “Drip” is just one of those songs that get heads bobbing and bodies moving….then Apex artist Sean Robins lends his vibrant, melodic voice to “Drip’s” contagious hook, giving listeners the perfect wave to ride to.

The self-proclaimed ‘Sauce Father’ himself, Sauce Walka shows up next, bragging about his obvious drip swag, while Water, whose name alone epitomizes drip, masterfully slides in offers his perspective on how much work and sacrifice went into attaining his level of drip. Finally, rapper Citty adds to the track his appreciation for the finer things in life and an aura of flash and bling that are synonymous with the very concept of DRIPPIN!

These H-Town creatives do not disappoint in putting their own spin on things and setting trends to contend with on Water’s new joint.

DRIP - WATER Ft Sauce Walka, Cityy & Sean Robins

Walter Devon-Istashma Young was born to parents Etta and Gale Young in Beaumont, TX on July 11. Around the age of 16, the charismatic Walter was introduced to the entertainment world and mentored by the members of Hip-Hop groups Street Military and Ghetto Boys. He was given the name “Water Boy” by his mentors and peers for his notable style and speed of lyrical delivery, that flowed like water, fast, free-flowing and quick to adapt.

In the early ’90s, Water Boy became one of the founders of popular Texas rap group Fakkulty and signed to X-BAM Records. At the peak of Fakkulty’s fame, Water Boy, alongside group members Malik, Lil V, and Kook gained notoriety with their album Southern Hostility and was booked on the “Ghetto Boy Resurrection Tour”.

Water Boy learned the game, perfected his musical craft and honed his performance skills as an opening act for Ghetto Boys, UGK, 8Ball and MJG, Destiny’s Child, Street Military and more. The young emcee made guest appearances on albums by Klondike Kat, Street Military, BAM, and G-Rapp.

In the midst of his rising music career Water Boy experienced the loss of his father and sister Mallory. He lost his motivation for performing and eventually got caught up in the streets of Missouri City, TX. As a result, he ended up doing a bid. Upon his release, Water was blessed with a second chance to pursue music and to show the world his evolution. He signed with Apex Predator Entertainment to release the best work he has ever recorded. In Spring, 2019 Apex Predator will drop Water’s breakout single “Drip” featuring fellow Houston standouts, Sauce Walka, Cityy and Sean Robbins.
