With his long awaited debut album “Madame” Sound Nomaden proves that his musical repertoire has far more to be revealed than just Electro Swing. He is a real traveller in the world of sound always searching for a new definition of music. The eleven tracks on the album combine influences of Swing, Jazz, Folk, Ska and even Classical Music with an up tempo club vibe and give us a new insight in the versatile work behind one of the leading DJ's and producers of the Electro Swing Phenomenon.

Beside MSP his partner in crime, well known through his expressive live saxophone performances, Sound Nomaden worked together with numerous guest musicians including Anja Kreysing, Das.Schliep, Cab Canavaral and Martin Knott. As the consequence the album defines a new generation of electronic music where powerful synthesizer and heavy club beats fuse with acoustic instruments like accordion, piano, trumpet, violin, tuba, guitar, saxophone and clarinet.

“Snowflake”, the pre-released first single of the album is a deep and jazzy House track with a catchy saxophone solo, warm synth sounds and electronic beats. With its emotional fusion of genres that suits every club set as well as a chill out mix for a launch or a listener at home, “Snowflake” already gained more than 70.000 plays on soundcloud.
With a similar smooth atmosphere the second album track “Little Bird” is definitely a feel good song and a potential next summer festival anthem. When the voices of tropical birds melt into groovy percussions, melodic piano chords and stunning synth pads, MSP’s Saxophone solo does the rest to leave you with a smile on your face.
The title song “Madame” tells a fictional story about the first vis-à-vis with a breathtaking woman in a bar back in the 20’s. Swinging piano lines, walking bass and emotional Saxophone parts guarantee to give you goose bumps on this one.
As well as “Für E-Lise” that is characterized by Beethoven’s well-known piano melody over a pushing offbeat, “The Trumpet” and “Akkordeon Hipsters” come along as energetic dance floor fillers that will leave no hip unmoved.
While “Zirkus” with its happy clarinet and xylophone melodies sounds like the perfect musical background for a circus rave, “Sad Swing” with its brass and organ lines represents a more laidback view on Electro Swing.
“Tear Of Joy” another track featuring MSP on saxophone with its distinctive robot vocal over a melodic piano line, turns out to be a retro dance track made for the 21st century. “Minimal Klezmer” sounds like a deep after hour club track spiced up with some smooth clarinet and guitar parts while the final song “Singing Pirates” features the great accordion player Anja Kreysing. If you’ve never believed it’s possible to transform a waltz into a house track, this track will prove the opposite.

Madame sounds different than the majority in the electronic music world because it is an ambitious attempt to fuse acoustic music and club music, to bring more diversity onto the too often repetitive musical landscape.

Le titre original est de Slim Gaillard, un artiste que nous admirons et qui réussit à faire swinguer le public sur des textes burlesques et parfois très contemporains. La preuve avec « Communication » qui annonce l’arrivée des technologies de communication dans le monde moderne. L’edit que nous avons choisi pour notre best of est l’œuvre du génial producteur anglais KeX, un de nos fidèles collaborateurs.

(english) The first track Bart&Baker released - a "first" for us in many respects. First production trial, first music video, and first sample clearance request. The original title is from the genius of swing music, Slim Gaillard, one of our all-time favorite performers. He was able to get the people swinging to some hilarious lyrics. This particular track is also a futuristic song, as it describes the impact of new technologies on the modern world, hence the title "communication". The edit we have chosen for our "best of" has been tailored by the British " wunderkind" producer KeX.

iamxl is Jon Hamlin... 
Jon has been a DJ since he was 10, no joke. He got his start mixing tapes using two dual cassette decks and running a line input with a mic to drop samples. His parents used to hate it when he had the volume full blast on MuchMusic's RapCity to record the latest tracks from Gangstarr, Black Sheep, and NWA. Yes, he started as the stereotypical white suburban child fascinated by the world of gangster rap. Boyz N The Hood on repeat, Malcom X hat on sideways, Jon got into the world of dj'ing on DJ Basss and friends, a Rogers TV community access show which was abruptly cancelled after the word *Shit* was broadcast live to an audience of 12-14 year old viewers. Hearing Eric B & Rakim's - Paid in Full (coldcut remix) was a turning page in Jon's life. He had never heard anything like it. The way they weaved samples throughout the track was fascinating and opened his eyes to a whole new world of possibilities. One of the pioneering multi-format dj's in Vancouver, he was a mash-up artist before the term even existed. Known by his peers to be able to mix just about any genre into a seamless blend of pure party magic, Jon has left a trail of satisfied party goers wherever he has played.

Professionally Jon has worked throughout the Vancouver club scene and has influenced many dj's that have come up within that scene during the last decade. He has held down residencies at clubs throughout the Lower Mainland. In 2006 he moved to London, UK and spent 3 years dj'ing across Western Europe and throughout the UK and Ireland. Playing clubs and bars in the most unique settings and scenarios broadened his horizons and helped him to gain new perspectives on nightlife experience worldwide. 

In 2008, iamxl remix productions began to appear online and began circulating amongst various dj's the world over. Jon developed the iamxl persona to symbolize and celebrate musical diversity and his remix credits exemplify this. His main sources of inspiration come from the 1920's Dada movement in Switzerland and the Fluxus period of the 1960's. His pastiche of musical tastes makes it hard to sum up or quantify this dj but he wouldn't have it any other way. iamxl remixes are now well regarded and seen by many to be on the cutting edge of musical creativity and originality. The iamxl remix of Deadmau5's - Faxing Berlin not only brought about the re-release of a classic downtempo track, it also included the vocal arrangements of Milwaukee, Wisconsin rock/pop group Fever Marene and added a human touch to a electronic masterpiece. Picked up early by global dj's including Tommy Trash and Dani Deahl, the single, under re-release, is racing up the Billboard Dance charts. His one-off B'more remix of John Lennon's - Woman was featured in Rolling Stone magazine and was downloaded 60,000 times in one week! New remixes of Joy Division - Atmosphere (featured on his Spring Promo) and The Bloody Beetroots ft. Steve Aoki - Warp, are once again putting Jon into the spotlight and helping him to carve his name into the Vancouver dj scene. 

Jon is currently releasing remix material via his website and via Crooklyn Clan's Crack4dj's (http://crack4djs.net) Website.

After only returning to Vancouver in the middle of March 2009, Jon is determined to make an impact on the Vancouver electronic and party scene. Expect big things from iamxl in 2009, this is just the beginning. His new record label Technologywillsaveus is launching late in 2009 and is looking to bolster its current roster with fresh new talent throughout the year.
