I'm Ian Ethier, a self-taught songwriter from Nova Scotia. I write quiet, emotional folk songs that explore themes of identity, family, and resilience. Inspired by artists like Nick Drake, John Prine, Beck, Cat Stevens and Gordon Lightfoot, I aim to create music that feels honest and intimate—songs that speak softly but stay with you.
My current project includes tracks like Aching Son, Wooden Bird in the Sky, and Betty White Vibes, each reflecting a different shade of my journey. I record from home, and I’m slowly building toward a life where songwriting is my full-time work.
