A reworking of the late 90's and early 00's track, originally the track was called "Damaged" and was written and sung by the American artist Plumb, which was then subsequently reworked into a hit on the UK charts by reworked by the dance group Plummet.  It's widely believed the lyrics explore the pain caused to a young woman as the result of some kind of abuse.   The lyrics take on a heartbreaking life of their own when viewed in that context:
