A lover of the natural world, he taught me about birds, trees and fishes on our long walks before I started school. He died before I understood him properly but his themes and my growing realisation of their importance, have continued to play throughout my life.

Faldren Hale, a timid but successful detective, has been supernaturally affected by a Rage ability since childhood. By the ring of a bell from his caretaker, he changes form, grows claws and fangs, gains insurmountable strength, and enters a complete bloodlust. In his time while normal, his biggest case is a string of murders around the region. Only issue is he's the prime suspect and just doesn't know it.
