Synthwave Revenge

It’s been a wild, breakout ride for Los Angeles-based DJ/producer Lauren Lane over the past few years, catapulting her through the global tech house scene, from the UK to Brazil, Ibiza and beyond. From her debut EP, ‘Cool Kids’, on Nic Fanciuilli’s Saved Records in 2014 (the best-selling track on the label that year), and ‘Diary Of A Madwoman’ EP, a chunky house stomper on Eats Everything and Nick Harris’ Edible imprint, and her recently released ‘Never Ending Moments’ collab with Acid Mondays on Warung Recordings, Lauren Lane has been busy carving out her spot as the scene’s rising star. Lauren says she’s excited and honored to be selected as Best Breakthrough DJ in the inaugural Best Of North America poll: “I’m so happy to know a lot of people are out there enjoying my DJ sets and releases. I am truly grateful to do what I love and I appreciate the support immensely!”

Building on the original sounds sculpted by Morrison, Tape Throb Records will look to release music which stems from the same nonconformity and desire to distort, blend, warp and innovate in the world of dance music. Now the platform has expanded from a bedroom in Derry to a recognised genre amongst those in the know the label will look to bring in more fledgling artists who share the same unconventional creative ethos and build Tape Throb from a niche sound to a movement. A movement that is at once soulful and punchy, warm but with a distinct sprinkling of fuck you.
Fittingly the first release scheduled for mid 2016 is a tape containing unreleased work by Buz Ludzha embracing a punk riddled jungle vibe punctuated with his signature warm distortion.

A few records hoyed together that I used to play on Fridays @ Sunderlands coolest music bar, The White Room. Most nights had something on at one point. Me and Olly Roberts held residency for a long time on a Friday night and Ward 10 on a Saturday. 
Fridays were a very eclectic mix of music. We also had other people join us as residents (Craig Hope and Mitch) who brought their own flava to proceedings .Many guests also joined us from different local nights. cheers to them all. 
If you ever came to The White Room on any night you'll know how special it was, Cheers to the staff and especially Ben (The Dictator) Wall for his support always..... hope you enjoy.
