Death Came A Knocking

I wrote this song for my Mum, Judy Holford, I finished it for my Stepdad, John Holford, and for my friend David Lambert. I sang it for the first time at David's wake. This shaky performance from a solo gig in 2019 is the only other time I've played it. However it's 10 years since Mum died, so maybe it's time to post it.

It's short and simple: Losing someone never makes sense; grief is what it is - it never alters, it's just that we get further away from it; no-one we've loved can ever truly leave us.

Dedicated today to my Uncle Alan, surviving my Auntie Pat - his wife of 71 years, to his family and of course to Pat, Dave, John and Judy.
