March Of The Gingerbread Men

All the residents of the great city of Dystopia, thousands in number, gather around to watch the show. A mixture of fear and excitement begins to build among them as they prepare for the spectacle. A spectacle which promised to be the most awe-inspiring, thrilling and terrifying spectacle witnessed by humanity. The people wait patiently until a burst of light in the sky fills their field of vision, indicating the show was beginning. Every person looks on in awe as fire erupts from the sun in blinding solar flares begin to burn everything across the entire planet. The flames destroy everything they touch, burning down buildings, ripping through the landscape and reducing people to ashes. All except the residents of the great city of Dystopia, where the protective shield around the city deflected the fire like it was nothing, allowing the residents to survive and marvel at the spectacle going on around them. As the show goes on, the fire turns the beautiful, lively planet that they called their home into a wasteland. Nothing else could stand up to the spectacular wave of destruction tearing through everything. It was a sight so powerful, not even the strongest of people could force themselves to look away from the incredible display. In time, there was nothing recognisable remaining of this once beautiful planet. All that remained was the great city of Dystopia which stood as grand as ever in the middle of wasteland which had all crumbled under the mighty force. This sight would burn itself on to the minds of all those watching with as much power as it burned through all the other life on this planet. What a spectacular show it was.

Beckoning

Dystopia

A boy is at work in his home polishing all of the skeletons. When this is finished, he gets to work arranging them carefully among the room. This one was to be placed next to the radio as she loved to listen to music. Another placed in front of the stove as he loved to cook. All of the skeletons he had were arranged in a way as best he could to preserve their identity which had been lost. He carefully arranged them with their most precious possessions as he could not bear to steal from them. The room became his work of art. The only thing out of place were the implements, the various knives and other tools he had used to remove the flesh and clean the bodies so that only the pure skeleton remains. A large part of him regrets this now, he had wanted to forget, to not have to look at a body which looked so much like what was once alive. However, even after all the flesh had been precisely stripped from them, he could still recognise every single one. However, others may not so his arrangements were the only clues to who these people once were. There were now no others remaining, the last once had died and been treated meaning there was no longer nothing left for the boy to wait here for. He checked once more to ensure that the picture he left was perfect and left his home forever to attempt to seek out the paradise that so many others had already left for.

Mindlessness

Every sunset some people see their world turn from somewhere normal to a place of fear they must hide from, while other people see their world turn from somewhere normal to their very own paradise.

Song Of Sunset

A boy has spent his entire life confined to his house and back garden. His parents keep him in there ensuring that he cannot leave. They tell him it is not safe to go outside further than the garden and they provide him with everything he needs so he has no reason to leave. Years pass and the boy becomes a man whilst never seeing further than his back garden. Until one day, his parents disappear. He is no longer being provided with what he needs to survive and so he must leave the area he is confined to. When he does, he is bombarded with so many unfamiliar sights and sounds that his senses are all gripped with fear. He sees nothing that he recognises, he has no idea how to even get anything to eat or drink and the outside world has almost nothing that he recognises. He sees other people like his parents but doesn’t dare to approach them in case they could present danger to him. In the end, he never manages to survive in the outside world as he was never truly taught how to.

*The theme of this song was influenced by the song 'Eternal' by Joy Division.

As the sun rises the creatures of the night hide away and the creatures of the day come out to replace them. However, somehow everything remains almost exactly the same.

Cynthia was a girl with a difficult life. Constantly abused by her parents, she was left with an unfulfilled upbringing without any education or any support for her mental health. She thought she would do anything to escape this life and live like everybody else. One day, when she was 13, she received a mysterious letter which had been hidden from her parents. The writer of the letter told her that they had learned of the abuse Cynthia was receiving and wished to offer her an escape, allowing her to join into their family. Cynthia wished to be allowed to join a normal family but decided that it was too naive to trust an unnamed sender of a letter and so decided not to take up the offer. The man who had sent the letter waited a long time for Cynthia's response. He was a married man with one child of his own, a girl of similar age to Cynthia, and has been horrified to learn what Cynthia had been suffering. Therefore, he was desperate to help her by allowing her to become an adopted child. He was a man of pure heart. However, he waited in vain as Cynthia never trusted his intentions enough to allow him to truly show them.

Desperate to escape this life she decided to wait in her back garden to meet this person. She was met by a friendly looking man who promised he would take her back to his home and family if she would follow him. She decided to trust him and left her garden to follow him to his house. When they got there, there was no family, just the one man who took her there. He then proceeded to take Cynthia to his basement where she was raped and then murdered.
