Originally hailing from Kansas, Ian followed the Yellow Brick Road to Music City, Nashville. And as most journeys are, it wasn’t a straightforward one, but he always loved a complex story.

Growing up there are always times when everyone feels alone in the world and like everyone else he found himself there on multiple occasions. As a young child he turned towards musicals, which sparked his creativity and self-growth. The freedom of being someone else gave him insight about the world and self-reflection. Still, he had to face his own demons.

He always leaned on the wisdom in words to guide him and the strength of music to move onward. Thus the perfect marriage of the two brought him towards songwriting, as he needed to find his own voice against his lonely struggles. Drawing from a musical theater background his artistic expression would manifest itself into musical theater pop: the melodies of pop tied in with theatrical musings.

After experimenting with his sound in Boston he made the trek to Nashville seeking a community. He found one and yet those moments of loneliness and doubt crept back in briefly from time to time. Dealing with that his upcoming EP, Table For One, explores the complexities and importance of being alone. Turning tables on what one may find despairing, Ian shines a burning light on empowerment, discovery and self-love that only comes in solitude.
