Der sympathische Producer, DJ und Labelbetreiber mit dem Hang zu organischen Klängen im deepen Downtempogewand ist uns bereits vor einiger Zeit aufgefallen. Seine Mixe bestechen durch eine große Dichte an Atmosphäre, welche durch überwiegend cineastische Übergänge erzeugt wird. Quasi ein Sound der auch gut zu unserer Reihe passt. Ein wenig angepasst hat er diesen aber trotzdem. aber hört selber und findet den Unterschied. 

Tausend Dand Xia für diese feine Reise ins Dickicht der organischen Afterhour.

After a slightly longer break in our podcast series, we welcome Xia Ke from Shanghai today. We noticed this likeable producer, DJ, and label owner with a penchant for organic sounds in deep downtempo guise some time ago. His mixes captivate with their dense atmosphere, which is created predominantly by cinematic transitions. It's a sound that fits well with our series. He has adapted it a little, though. But listen for yourself and see if you can spot the difference.

✘ What makes good "afterhour"?
Chill, moody, slightly danceable and meditateable. 

✘ Do you have any thoughts you would like to share about your set?
It's a set prepared for our upcoming label tour. I want to illustrate a more moody downtempo soundscape to the Chinese local audiences. There are also some great productions from my label Autumn Equinox.

“Shadows of the Impossible” is the continuation of my previous album “Shadows of the Inevitable.”
While the first chapter explored inevitability and quiet darkness, this new album expands the journey into deeper emotional, cinematic, and interstellar territory.

Each composition tells its own story — melancholic, epic, and reflective — inspired by the vastness of space, inner struggle, and the beauty of the unknown.
This album is designed to be immersive, emotional, and cinematic — a soundtrack for moments beyond words.

People spend so much time imagining the future.
One thing becomes clearer to me every year:

The future is only a story.
The only thing that truly exists is the moment we are in right now.

And whatever direction we move in, it always brings us back to the same place:
the here and now.

So for this Christmas, I just want to share a quiet moment with you.

A small reminder that the day tomorrow begins is simply the moment we realise that today is enough.
