SO... for those of you who only have discovered InFiné recently, RONE aka Erwan Castex has released his first LP “Spanish Breakfast” in 2009 almost one year after“Bora”, his debut EP. His album was illustrated by a video of Vladimir Mavounia-Kouka cristallizing on screen the dreamy and tormented atmospheres of his productions. 
SO…in 2011, Rone will return in full force after a two-year break and the release of his much-awaited second full-length effort. 
SO ... " So So So" is the name of his coming EP to be released 9th May on InFiné.

Berlin-based DJ and production duo Tale of Us take a step back from their busy touring and production schedule to compile the latest instalment of Renaissance's 'The Mix Collection' series. 

“We put this mix together in Mexico, looking out at a beautiful sea in a magical spot in the Yucatan, surrounded by friends and label mates as we recovered from an intense new year's and BPM rush. It was the perfect setting to take on something like this, looking back at the year behind us, not concerned so much by genres and boundaries as much as by assembling a musical picture of where we're at, where we've been and most importantly a little bit of where we're going. Each of the two mixes is a journey unto itself but together they can be seen as our musical chiaroscuro, reflecting a bit of the two sides of the way we think both about DJing and producing. It's hard to confine ourselves to just over 2 hours when there is so much music we've fallen in love with but this is the best reflection of this moment in time for us. We hope you enjoy it as much as we have.”

Throughout their first mix the duo move effortlessly between the driving aesthetics of Kollektiv Turmstrasse and anthemic highs of Scuba to more experimental and angular remixes from Baths and Four Tet. The second mix takes a distinctly more mininal approach, with the textures of Daniel Avery, Recondite, Robert Hood and Extrawelt's productions taking the driving seat and remixes from the likes of Donato Dozzy and DJ Koze switching up already excellent originals. Across both mixes Tale of Us have managed to balance the deep, melodic, upbeat and sometimes more challenging elements of electronic music through careful selection and programming to ensure both have the flow and finesse that listeners have come to expect of a Renaissance release.

Tale of Us are certainly no strangers to the decks, between throwing their own 'Just This' secret loft parties in Milan, regular fixtures at renowned clubs such as Berlin's Watergate, Ibiza's DC10 as well as live and DJ sets at festivals such as Sonar and Movement. Alongside this, their productions have caught the attention of Seth Troxler, Shaun Reeves, Ryan Crosson and Lee Curtiss, who released their debut EP on Visionquest in 2011. 

The Mix Collection series saw it's inaugural 1994 release from Sasha & John Digweed, who set a new standard for the DJ compilation format. Since then Renaissance has undergone a musical shift, with recent contributions from M.A.N.D.Y., Gui Boratto and now Tale of Us helping to bring the original spirit of the brand to a new generation of music aficionados.

The album was released on our label in 2011 and was nominated for the award “Deutscher Radiopreis” in the same year. “Behaving Like A Widower” is so good, it actually wouldn’t require any remixes. Nonetheless, our friends went down to work with great care and passion for detail. For volume 7, Blue Marlin have really pulled out all the stops, giving us 2 discs each with a distinctly different flavour, but still retaining that cool Blue Marlin vibe. Disc 1 is full of great deep house cuts that provide a taste of nights at the club, standout tracks being the Luna City Express remix of Marcos In Dub’s Mama Said and Pachanga Boys timeless Time. Disc 2 is more chilled and features stunning tracks from James Welsh and Prins Thomas’ remix of James Yuill’s This Sweet Love. The album will be heavily promoted across social media by Blue Marlin’s label partner Cr2 Records, and will be advertised extensively at the club itself.
