Solid Steel (5th May) Our guest in Hour 1 this week is Pangaea, who is one third of the team behind Hessle Audio alongside Ben UFO and Pearson Sound. They are celebrating 10 years of the label which has been constantly pushing the boundaries of electronic music and they will be heading to North America next week for some shows as part of Hessle’s 10th anniversary. Pangaea released his debut album 'In Drum Play' last year on the label and can be found more recently on remix duties for Patrick Conway on the Rekids label and Trus'me which is out on Prime Numbers. He had this to say about his mix;
“This is basically an upfront club mix with a few twists and turns. No older tracks or Discogs purchases for this one, just fresh releases and forthcoming bits from the last couple of months or so I had at the time of recording on 25th April”

A third of Hessle Audio, alongside Ben UFO and Pearson Sound, Pangaea has been an essential fixture of the electronic music scene for over a decade. Whether through releases on Hessle’s influential imprint, or as a distinctive and celebrated DJ in his own right - Pangaea is undoubtedly a huge player in shaping the characteristic UK club sound.

Similarly as influential a character at Dimensions, Pangaea has appeared at every single festival since our inception in 2012. Over the years, Hessle’s presence has grown to be a crucial part of the Dimensions experience -  through their boat parties to memorable Moat takeovers. Eight years on, we’re delighted to present this sublime hour-long mix for our series, loaded with percussive, bass-driven heaters destined for the dancefloor...(or the Moat).

"Here’s the Zenker Brothers, aka Dario and Marco Zenker. A duo that consistently seem to push the fringes of contemporary club music into new realms. The two have just released their first album in five years; ‘Cosmic Transmission’. The new album traverses through sluggish dub, deep electro, fast techno and more; remaining true to the exploratory nature you can expect from a Zenker Brothers release. 

Since 2007 their label Ilian Tape has garnered a cult following from techno lovers from across the globe. Though the two don’t seem too fussed about that though, the label bio reads ‘We don't care about the hype, we just do what we love!’

They’re bringing that carefree energy this week on Mix Up, expect hefty breaks, deep electro and some freaky bass business. Check it out!"
