DJ Rons Strictly Early Rave vol. 1 -I Love Techno Mix-  (1991-1995) -2014-

Eric Galaviz and Brian Varga, better known as the DJ / Producer duo Hipp-E and Halo, joined forces 15 years ago after realizing they shared many common musical interests. The HFoundation was born. Here and now in 2014 they are set to release their album ‘Passage’, a
collection of their finest moments from 1999-2004, through DJ Sneak’s imprint Magnetic Recordings on 16th June.

‘Passage’ showcases the dub-influenced house that made H-Foundation, Hipp-E and Halo tracks stand out from the crowd back in the early to mid 2000’s and saw them regarded as pioneers of the period’s dominant ‘West Coast’ sound. Originally catapulted to fame with exposure from UK Legends Pete Tong and Carl Cox, they held down a long standing residency at Fabric in London and worked with respected labels like Moody, Siesta, NRK and Soma, for whom they released their famed debut album ‘Environments’. The 1999-2004 span represented on ‘Passage’ includes an influential period from their earlier days of collaboration, which spawned some of their most influential tracks like “Here Da Sound” as well as high profile remixes for the likes of the Chemical Brothers and Silicone
Soul. The 13-track package is offered up fully re-mastered, with many tracks available digitally for the first time to both avid fans and those discovering H-Foundation for the first
time.

After years of collaboration with great success, the duo decided to shift their focus to their individual pursuits of personal life goals, but now return reinvigorated, matured and inspired by the very interests that brought them together years ago. Their single with C1, ‘Kontrol Room’, was released on DJ Sneak’s Magnetic Recordings in January and marked their return to the studio. The duo’s new music can also be found on Halo’s own label Surface Recordings as well as Tsuba, One Records, Supplement Facts and Leftroom.

Clarisse puts on one of Chicago’s finest and a genuine, long-standing household name of club culture. The EDM-trashing gangster of house – less a gatekeeper of the scene’s essence, more its heavyweight bodyguard - DJ Sneak has always kept it real when it has come to a career of been theres and done thats. “Picking out the bikini-clad...if asses aren’t shaking, they must be wedged into a seat that’s too small for them”, one reviewer spoke of his selection skills. With bags packed for a 2015 gig schedule taking in festivals and top tier dancefloors from Barcelona to Brooklyn, LA to Ibiza, Cleethorpes to Croatia and back again, Sneak has held a lengthy association with the Clarisse family, having remixed Nick Coden’s ‘Fashion’ back in 2010.

‘Seca de Loco’ is funk meant for showing off your tan to. To the swing of a jovial bell-ringing riff that’ll also happily knock your block off, its chimes tell you that class is in session, happy hour is under way, and shake and shimmy is on 2-for-1. Sneak’s nimble tribal style cuts through the cumbersome weight of the competition, vocalized by a squabble of Latin commentators adding rum-soaked zest from a scrambled radio frequency. A pacey piece of carnival partying, with just a pinch of added strength acid stirred in below.

The remix comes hung, drawn and Latin quartered, and it’s Clarisse’s leader of the cavalry Mendo who carries on the tribal tug-of-war by making the fast-irresistible glassy riff swing like he’s the boss of the bell-tower. Full of the original’s chatter that in parts becomes even more flubbery – there are times where you swear you can hear the gargling of cocktails going down – Mendo adds jack-ready percussion, marches the track through streets lined by horn players and leads it to the nearest mass of body heat.

Live set recorded in NYC march 16th @ strangelove. This is a new concept i am experimenting with which is basically my mobile studio in one small case. (apc 40, mpk 49, audio interface and laptop). the idea is to start from scratch and create the music on the spot, feeding off the crowd. Every show completely different.
