Inspired by a spiritual structure, Marc Marzenit gives us this ethereal, sophisticated and perfectly executed set, exclusive for the 17th episode of Be for the Podcast. 

Serene and placid beats, immersed in organic sounds and incandescent vocals, were skillfully selected for a special seven-hour session at the XII century Cathedral La Seu Vella in Lleida as for the very first time in over 800 years of history, electronic pulses flooded the walls of this magnificent building. It is no surprise, therefore, that tickets sold out five days before the event in what was a spectacular success for the Catalan artist. 

Marzenit showcases his taste and technique perfectly by connecting house, dub techno, techno and adding some hints of electro into the groove to create a captivating and eclectic DJ mix. Beginning with an almost melancholic tranquility, the set gradually emerges, the sound arrangements building a system that little by little becomes more agile, full of movement, warmth and vital energy, without ever losing the calm and the imperturbability of the original structure. 

Exquisite, attractive and with lots of melody, this is a set that only Marc Marzenit could conceive.

Serenos y plácidos beats, sumergidos en sonidos orgánicos e incandescentes vocales, pulcramente seleccionados para una sesión especial de siete horas en la Catedral de la Seu Vella de Lleida, construida en el siglo XII. Por primera vez en más de 800 años pulsaciones electrónicas inundaron las paredes de este suntuoso edificio, no es de extrañar que las entradas para este evento se agotaran cinco días antes, sin duda un éxito rotundo para este artista catalán.

Marzenit hace gala de su técnica y gusto, uniendo perfectamente los estilos house, dub techno, techno, añadiendo también algunos tintes electro, lo que ha dado como resultado este cautivador y ecléctico Dj mix. Empezando con una tranquilidad casi melancólica, el set va despuntando paulatinamente, la composición de sonidos construye poco a poco un sistema más ágil, lleno de movimiento, calidez y energía vital, sin perder en ningún momento la calma y la imperturbabilidad de su estructura original.

Anticipating the third full length album from Germany's Reboot, the man himself gives us an exclusive mixtape for the 213th edition of our series.

Entitled "aLIVE," and available via Get Physical Recordings, the 12 track affair is his first on the label and is another fantastic statement of his inventive electronic talents. "aLIVE" takes inspiration from “the beauty of all aspects of life” and “the magical connection between everything in existence” according to the artist. It was written over the course of two years and inspired by a multitude of ideas and sketches. The final work was then finished in the last few months along with a brand new live show, and every track features bits of organic sound, found sound recordings, modular synth work and tools like the Eventide Ultra-Harmonizer.

Over the last decade, Reboot has proved he is an artist who always evolves and adapts to new ideas with each new release. He has put out numerous EPs and LPs on labels like Cadenza and Cocoon, Moon Harbour and Defected. From intricate minimal to solid, club ready techno & house music via an immersive live show at the vanguard of the scene, the Frankfurter has also had his own Ibiza party and played just about every major club and festival in the world.

There isn’t much music on the musical spectrum which Englishman Chris Barratt aka Eagles & Butterflies doesn’t draw inspiration from, and it shows in his productions which can range from downtempo to techno. This diversity has lead to the Englishman releasing on some of the world’s most celebrated labels including Get Physical, Innervisions, Noir Music and Southern Fried. Earlier this year he also signed a couple of productions to Bedrock records which included his re-work of DK8’s classic techno banger ‘Murder was the Bass’. There is no doubt that Eagles & Butterflies are starting to confirm that he is an artist with some serious longevity, and his Balance Selections podcast is one that will sit with the listener for while, emotive without ever being too obvious.
