Eh . . . don't give up your day job just yet. It's a given that the performance is mechanical and lacks any emotive pinnings (and that by the way could/would/should include the arbitrariness of performance of notes within time. The essence of human performance and emotional communication is collaborative and to be recognized as human communication, not perfect in its rhythm placement. The essence of a great groove is knowing that the backbeat is infinitesimally "dragged" slightly behind perfect time; and this ain't it. Just like cooking an omelette, the ingredients are readily knowable and available to all (robots included). But just like an omelette, not all music is created equal; and it takes truly unique (perhaps unquantifiable) talent to make a great one. Turn Steve Gadd into an algorithm, and we'll talk.
