We've been waiting a while for this one! The album My Heart Is Love from Asheville-Baltimore duo Aligning Minds took us by surprise earlier this year. Full of downtempo, psychedelic, glitchy goodness, the healing vibes of the long play took us on a fantastical journey from which we never wanted to return. Until now. Dan Merrill and Mike Folk got a bunch of their buddies in the industry to throw down some tasty takes on the album's tracks. Two interdimensional capybaraz arrived on Earth through a wormhole woven from basslines and stardust, seeking the freshest beats to revitalize their rhythm-starved home planet, Capyberion X. As they drifted through jungles, clubs, and concert halls, they stumbled upon a towering, ethereal being, a galactic Giraffe with headphones the size of hovercrafts and a vinyl collection that shimmered with cosmic hues. Giraffe spun a transcendent fusion of psychedelic techno beats that made the CapybaraZ weep tiny neon tears of joy. In gratitude, they sampled Giraffe’s soundscape and remixed it with Capyberion’s ancient electro-chirps and percussive tail-slaps, birthing a transcultural anthem that made planets pulse in sync and wormholes hum in harmony.
