Wish me luck with this description.  I'm still under the influence of the sedatives I was on for my dental appointment yesterday--certainly, I can't drive and I probably shouldn't have to sign my name to any contracts or anything like that.  But, I'm pretty sure I can type a little bit.  

(But, if what I say is poorly spelled or starts not to make sense--it's because I'm loopy on Halcyon.)  

Yesterday--which was posted before the meds made me loopy--was, perhaps one of the best examples of a "pure" electronic dance music track, in that case it was a house track, that I've managed.  (If you haven't, go check out "Fathoms" for yourself!)  

Today's track, couldn't be more different.  It is so many different things all at once. ("Am I Mimi? Am I Meemer?  I am MANY dogs."--j.riggi)  The tempo is far slower, the bass is the most prominent instrument, which can go from sparse to energetic to buzzy subs over the course of a few seconds.  The synths blur from chorus to verse, and some sound like a carnival pipe organ.  

And, over the top of the whole thing is the voice of a laconic and "over it" emo girl who is finally asking her significant other why their unhappy relationship continues.  

(Though I pulled a couple of my own emotions and borrowed some that I undoubtedly caused others to feel, this isn't a direct one:one retelling of any real life story I've lived.  Hopefully, there's a universality to the narrative...so it can all be felt by everyone.)  

My favorite sections of the song are when the production and sound design owe a large debt to 10cc and their incredibly beauitful and sad "I'm Not In Love" hit.  (You'll probably know it when you hear it.)  

Is this pop?  RnB?  Trip hop?  Synthpop?  Indie?

By now, you should already know the answer.
