Description:
Throughout his work, Moten has worked to connect the structures and advances and difficulties of experimental Black aesthetics into the social understanding of the United States. His work makes to draw connections between the substructures of our society and the way many African Americans have chosen to perform identities on the stage and in the street.

Relevance:
Fred Moten has lectured and read his poetry, he has also at times collaborated with others on more performance or sound-based works. Moten has given many lectures on collectivity, and his book The Undercommons is in part about the importance of collectivity to pedagogy. We will work with Moten on the structure and programs.

Music inspired by Raaijmakers' electronic music from the 1960s, and his writings on sound composition, particularly "Cahier M: A Brief Morphology of Electric Sound".
