Born in MS but hailing from the Northend area of inner city Detroit, MI; IceBox is a phenomenal lyricist and true student of hiphop. Growing up in the early to mid 90s, he became captivated by the sounds of East-Coast hiphop though he was living down south in Memphis, TN at the time. His influences hail from fellow artists like Nas, Jay-Z, Method Man, Biggie, 2Pac, Royce Da 5’9, Eminem, Ludacris, Fabolous and Kanye West respectively. IceBox considers himself a late bloomer with it comes to being on the artist side of music seeing as he didn’t begin rapping seriously until he was a little over 16 years old. Since then he has been hard at work perfecting his craft since those Summer days of sitting in the room nodding out to Kanye West productions. Those who know of his skills will vouch for his impeccable flow, slick punchlines and vivid storytelling very reminiscent to his idol Jermaine Cole.
