Alland Byallo delivers his ‘Full Light Shine’ EP via his own Full Bleed imprint this March, comprised of two original soul-drenched grooves.
L.A born now Berlin-based producer, DJ, and label owner Alland Byallo has been making his mark on the contemporary house scene over the past two decades with releases on the likes of Housewax, Rawax, RealTone, Third Ear and of course his own Full Bleed imprint where he returns here with his latest EP. After spending time as a party promoter with his acclaimed California event series KONTROL and touring the globe as a DJ since the turn of the millennium, Alland has now shifted focus towards honing his craft in the studio and his work as a visual artist, Byallo has also been heavily contributing to electronic music’s design world for over twenty years.
Here with his new ‘Full Light Shine’ EP, Alland offers up two tracks fusing influences of broken beat, downtempo, house, jazz and more. Opening the release is ‘Karma Beach’, laid out across six and a half
minutes with wandering keys, bubbling synth licks, airy Rhodes chords and a dynamic, organically unfolding drum groove throughout.
‘Reflect, Rotate’ follows next and retains a similarly off-kilter approach rhythmically while bringing a more electronic feel with the melodic elements, fusing acid-tinged bass licks with swirling resonant lead lines, soft, hypnotic pads, and hooky vocal chants.

And now for our next number we'd like to return to the classics...today we proudly present a guest show by none other than Marcos Valle, a true legend of bossa nova, samba and popular brazilian music in general. Valle started playing the piano at the age of five, educated in classical and soon leaning towards jazz and soul, he began his recording career in the mid-sixties, when he was still a teenager. Since then he has built a monumental body of work with close to thirty albums published and a songbook of more than three hundred compositions, with which he has also provided material for Caetano Veloso, Dizzy Gillespie, Sarah Vaughan, Stacey Kent and Diana Krall among many others. Guitarist, producer, arranger, composer of soundtracks, also well versed in his approaches to rock, funk or electronics, Marcos Valle is an all-rounder who has done it all in the world of music. 
This very special episode in our Curtis Radio series marks the first anniversary of the show, and we want to express our enormous gratitude to all the artists that so generously shared their most treasured records with us, and to all the listeners and music lovers who play and enjoy the shows making this project born a year ago in our beloved listening bar in Barcelona such a beautiful reality.

For this week’s episode of the Bside podcast we welcome a German producer, DJ, and avid record collector by the name of Saltywax.

We came into contact with Nico aka @sltwx as a fan of the show and a fellow music enthusiast, we love his desire to tell a story through music and his episode of the Bside podcast proved a perfect platform for him to do so. 

He’s been playing records and producing his own music for 6 years, releasing on such labels Too Slow To Disco, a sub-label of City Slang, the Basement Discos, Random Mind State and Legofunk Records. And with his incredible new release ‘Keep Dancing’ via Zissou Records catching our attention, we’ll keep a keen eye on his future movements too. 

With an epic episode spanning two hours, Saltywax moves through every genres and musical mood in his collection; Ambient , italo funk, disco, soul, jazz, techno, percussive rhythms, dancey beats, electro synths and almost anything in between!
