i’ve put so much effort into this song. the first iteration was released. yet, it was ass. i decided to remake it around june of 2022, ended up getting Asher on this for a collab tape., which stories of a </3 was supposed to be, but time constraints and other things got in the way. this was my last song to be recorded before my heartbreak that inspired the album. i like to be cryptic about my songs and the meanings but with how well this song was, i decided to give more insight to it.

the first iteration, i still have of the song and it’s not good at all, at least not up to my standards.

about “overseas”

the song that started the journey for “stories of a </3”. fresh off the break up, i was filled with emotions. anger, guilt, sadness, nearly every emotion. teasing this song was hard for me due to hate comments but alas, i didn’t let that stop me. hell, nothing could stop me in this time. other than the thought of what had happened a little under a month prior. 

this song was the truest song i had ever came up with. every line said in that, was true. that all happened. the mixing wasn’t the best but it was still a deep track nonetheless. the original track name was “over the seas”, i couldn’t make that work with the “the” in it. so overseas was the one i chose. 

on august 14th, 2022 at 2:51 pm, i started writing that track. overseas was completed in its entirety just 2 days later. i plan on showing a demo with this post (@icehogg on insta) that has an unreleased “verse/ mumble freestyle”, and an alternative cover art for “stories of a </3”. this track, still entirely means so much to me. 

love you guys. thank you for the support, even if it’s not much. it means a helluva lot to me, especially when i feel as if i shouldn’t continue with this route.

had enough, which is undoubtedly my deepest track, talking about my suicidal tendencies, my break up, the struggles i’ve gone through with my mental, and how the relationship was. 

it’s been extremely rough since july, not much to be done about it other than the fact till this day it affects me. i made this song at the lowest point in my life. 

i was lied to for so long in the end of the relationship. i had no one. i really did have enough of all the bullshit i had gone through. i was fully in love, i fucked it up. i had even stated that i hated everyone. especially the ones who associated with my ex. made me the bad guy without even explaining my side.

so, september 12, 12:08 am, i started writing and recording this. this entire track was supposed to be a mumbly type song like how the chorus is. i started teasing this as soon as a portion of the first verse was completed. 

i think i’ll always have enough of all the bullshit.

“REJECT!” was made a few days before i hung out with someone who honestly became special to me in a way. people were coming back to me. i was so content with life then. don’t get me wrong, i still am, but people always come and go. 

i decided to take a step back from the sad shit and get hyped mixed with toxic. so, REJECT! was born. i heard the beat and i immediately started working on it. i posted a demo snippet twice, one when it was only the hook, and one of the second verse idea. 

i hope you guys enjoy this track. this tracks actually made me go into writers block, but i’m getting out of it. no more music for a bit as i’m gonna try and put a project together. when i come back, know somethings gonna happen with a project then.

about “can’t afford”

man, let me just dig into my mind just to figure this track out. this track actually was my attempt at going upbeat, as i say in the beginning, which the beginning isn’t the best i will say that, i had actually attempted to change that the day of release but couldn’t due to me not getting the right tone. 

this track, just like “reject!”, was about a girl roughly. she won’t know but that’s not my problem. i had shown this to a friend when this was only a hook and he said “a lot of people might not be honest with you, but this is good.”, i finished it the next day. 

by “can’t afford”, i mean mentally you can’t take some of the shit that happens, nor you can’t afford to show love to someone. 

oct 4, 11:57pm, can’t afford hook was made. i had teased “can’t afford” the first time in november 1st, via my story. 2 weeks later a CDQ snippet was posted then. i will say, there may be a “can’t afford 2” that’s on the table, but that’s for sure going to stay unanswered.

about “Fresh Air!”

Fresh Air! being my first released single on practically every dsp, other than earthquake which was only there just to get my artist page up, was an interesting and fun song to create. 

i had started writing and immediately recording as soon as i heard the beat. this ended up being a love song to someone and well, guess how that ended, not well. there are certain parts that i didn’t like that are actually still in the song, but oh well.

the hook itself was actually supposed to be longer, but when i figured out small it was, i obviously didn’t make it long. it sits at 4 lines and honestly, it’s one of my favorite hooks. especially at the end. 

so, january 18, 2023, at 9:03 pm, the track was born. another small fact about this track is that i was in complete writers block and was supposed to have the person i was talking to, to actually help write, but only took me a day to complete.
