love it!  this makes me want to run around and laugh.   :-)

man...this nearly embarrassing, high energy, overdriven thing..  back in 1998, i stumbled onto a new genre - black gospel prog.  i think this would probably be considered a disservice to both camps and also enjoyed by neither.  recorded this as a scratch reference so i could go back and "do it right".  looking back, i think it's at full crest for better or worse and should be left alone.  besides playing drums and bass guitar, the keyboards i used were a moog opus 3 and juno 106.

Ice Eater's "Low Life" comes from Fort Worth Weekly's 2013 Music Awards compilation CD, Frequencies, Vol. 4, featuring 18 tracks, all from nominees in our annual contest, who are all from Tarrant County (mostly Fort Worth). Recorded live at Eagle Audio Recording on the Near Southside in mid-May, the CD will officially be released at Fort Worth Weekly's 11th Annual Music Awards Festival (MAF), Sunday, June 23, at eight venues in the West 7th corridor. Burning Hotels, Fungi Girls, Quaker City Night Hawks, Whiskey Folk Ramblers, Calhoun, The Hanna Barbarians, The Longshots, The Phuss, and 40 more bands, nominees all, are slated to play. Ice Eater is also playing. (The full lineup will be announced soon via fwweekly.com.)

Admission to MAF'13 is free, and proceeds from the $5-a-pop sale of our CDs will benefit our charity sponsor, the Tarrant Area Food Bank. Through the sale of our CDs over the past several years through, we’ve raised more than $5,000 for our previous charities, including the food bank and SafeHaven of Tarrant County.
