I don’t want to get too deep with this, but hear me out….To all my followers, friends, family & fans -

Leandro is not just any kid you randomly cross paths with in life. He’s a kind, talented and overall solid human who made this significant moment of ours REAL. I wouldn’t have been able to do this without him - obviously - because as a producer (who can’t rap or sing for shit), the only way I get my message across is through the beats. But what’s a beat without someone’s voice, melodies or lyrics? Hip Hop, Reggaeton, etc albums are not made that way. This is not Lo-Fi or Classical music (even though the intro to the album is 🎻). So I always knew I’d have to rely on someone who else to bring those budding beats to life…and generally I’m not the type of guy that likes to rely on people for stuff, just saying. So I was kind of annoyed with the realization. But fuck it. It’s the only way AND the right one !

EL LARRA is the first person I’ve worked with that loved most of the beats I put forward. Simple as that. He wanted more. So more is what he got (good thing I happened to own a large stockpile of frosted inventory, sitting in multiple digital warehouses [external hard drives] ready for mass market deployment). Anyways, he unlocked the potential inside me. The confidence you get when any artist is inspired by your creations is exactly what births this type of situation. So this is my personal Guru & Dj Premier moment…

Also I’d like to mention that this whole experience was a multi-cultural bridge that properly connected us. In fact, the so called ‘language barrier’ I faced at the beginning turned out to be nothing more than a basic, primitive illusion.

I couldn’t have know that 3 months into meeting each other for the first time we’d put ink to contract & legally formalize this collaboration. Fast forward 2+ years later and we have a body of work that encapsulates and speaks this whole process better than anything else.

This is the story of a Cuban boy who made his way through the pitfalls of life, experiencing the horrors & difficulties that too many people in our world face daily, only to ascend - luckily - through migration & other ways, to ultimately another level of a thick & toxic Layer Cake: Miami.

But fear not! This is ain’t a sob story….or a redemption story. It’s one of hope, obsession & LOVE. You will find this project rich with our musical DNA. It was not rushed, it happened exactly the way it was supposed to…similar to a gentle turtles pace.

From the moment I stepped foot on the fateful day in Paris @ the 1998 DMC DJ World Championships, to my first studio sessions in Nanterre in the summer of 2000, to releasing my first song on Soundcloud in 2010, to this 305 juncture right here in 2024…The culmination of my trials & tribulations are finally laid bare, and with that being said…

We proudly present our joint debut album: SANTA CRUZ. A musical mosaic full of heavy grooves & 808 bounces that I pray will bring extremely positive vibes to your lives…and to that of your patient neighbors.
