The songs are a musical illustration in the TV Theater show entitled "Matka odchodzi" by Tadeusz Rﻩ?ewicz, adapted and directed by Przemys?aw Stippy, broadcast by TVP Kultura.

The performance takes us through the most difficult part of life, which is dying. The poet, who built his whole life on the order of words, logic and reason, stands before the abstract border of nothingness. He invites his mother to this journey, who in a simple, organic way describes to him the meanings based on God and love.
This story is a memoir sketch showing the relationship between the son and the mother. It consists of the author's memoirs and poems about his mother Stefania. She describes her stay in the hospital and her death from cancer.

Mother Departs

Cyann, also known as Wysteria, is a 19-year-old artist from Nancy, France, with a rich musical background. She is a multi-instrumentalist, starting with the harp at four and the violin at seven, and later piano and acoustic guitar. Her music blends elements of folk and modern pop, with a talent for both composition and lyricism. Cyann's lyrics, written in both English and French, celebrate nature and life, drawing inspiration from natural elements, fire, rain...

Guitariste et chanteuse grecque hors pair, Angélique Ionatos, forte de 40 ans de carrière et à l'origine de près d'une vingtaine d'albums, revient cet automne avec un nouvel album à paraître chez Ici, d'ailleurs qui s'annonce comme l'une de ses œuvres les plus abouties. 

La carrière d'Angélique Ionatos est peu commune. A 15 ans, elle quitte son pays natal pour la Belgique puis la France. Elle y enregistre son premier album, chanté en français, en compagnie de son frère Photis. Le succès d'estime est immédiat puisque Résurrection obtient le grand prix de l'académie Charles-Cros, scellant ainsi une relation forte avec la France. 

L'univers d’Angélique Ionatos est indissociable de ceux de la poésie et de la littérature. Elle compose à de nombreuses reprises sur des textes d'auteurs reconnus, parmi lesquels Odysseus Elytis, Oscar Wilde ou encore Pablo Neruda. Elle est également très sollicitée par le monde du théâtre, et notamment celui de Sartrouville au sein duquel elle est artiste associée entre 1989 en 2004 et dont la plupart des créations sont co-produites par le Théâtre de la Ville de Paris.

En 2014, elle s’attelle finalement à la composition de son nouvel album. Un disque intégralement chanté et basé sur des poèmes grecs, marqué par une forte mélancolie. Il en devient difficile de décrire les sensations procurées par son écoute tant la tension qu'il dégage prend aux tripes. Le fabuleux jeu de guitare d'Angélique, percutant et précis, y est pour beaucoup. Mais c'est aussi par l'évidente beauté de son chant, pourtant très influencé par les tonalités funèbres du thrène, qu'elle parvient à toucher profondément son auditoire. Un album sur le fil du rasoir, dans lequel l'euphorie côtoie de très près le spleen.

Comme à son habitude, Angélique Ionatos est ici accompagnée de plusieurs musiciens. On notera  la présence de Gaspar Claus (violoncelle) et Cesar Stroscio (bandonéon) dont les interventions accentuent la force évocatrice du disque. On y retrouvera aussi Katerina Fotinaki, avec qui elle a déjà collaborée à plusieurs reprises (Anatoli, Comme un Jardin la Nuit...). 

La voix d'Angélique Ionatos incarne une volonté de mouvement. Elle témoigne en filigrane d'un discours politique porté par la vision d'une Grèce sous pression. Son engagement est celui de l'ouverture, de l'acceptation des angoisses pour mieux les combattre, notamment par la transmission de sa culture natale. Un disque sombre mais plein d'espoir transcendé par la force de ses convictions.
