i heard this beat and it immediately made me super introspective. this was a mac miller type beat and i think i tried to carry that energy when i started writing the chorus, which is the first part i wrote. i realized about halfway through it that i was basically the first sentences id say to whatever therapist was fortunate enough to get me on a couch. ive made a concerted effort not to make depressing music without at least mentioning that all of life is mercurial. nothing is set in stone and so the knowledge and hope that i can do better and be better is the only tool i need to affect change in the world around me. that duality comes out a lot in my music and ive gotten pretty good at spelling my own brand of psychosis while simultaneously parenting myself. its all very tiring but i like what it produces.

when it came to the first verse i wanted to be as real as i could in the first lines. i wanted something i could feel for a while. i came up with i wanna smoke more weed and get more money. a bit shallow for the subject looking back at it now but it is what it is. 

the second verse tho way simpler to write took me almost 6 months of practice to sing correctly. the first month or so was just choosing how it would sound and rest of the time was just practicing singing til i could actually hit all the notes at volume
(im what youd call a whisper singer) and it still took a couple takes to get it right. 

sprinkle in some magic from my boy LMO on mix/master and the product is a song ill likely be listening to til i get that rocket ship to space

this is a song i created the last time allowed myself to care for another human being more than myself. it ended in tears and confusion. it was beautiful and what i created out of that pain was just as beautiful. i didnt want to drop this song because the love it was based on didnt exist anymore. i think ive finally moved far enough past it that i can let go of the connection and show people art for the sake of the art. 

its a song thats been one of my favorites for the verses but there was always a small reason i didnt want to drop it. it was corny, the words didnt sound right, the break up itself. i think im finished dwelling on the negatives. 

im ready to drop my pain, i dont want it anymore.

meant to be an uplifting dreamscape of words. this song is a letter to myself sent from the last grips of my sleeping mind.

my thoughts as i wake up are turning more positive lately. i wanted to reflect that in the mood of the song by keeping it smooth and calm but still mildly chaotic.

i timestamp of a time in my life i didnt know if id make it through the night. i think the song speaks to the mindset i had going through those nights and the change in minset i needed to get through them. 

many of these songs are heavy in religious iconography but i beleive my understanding of the meaning of those names to be a bit more intimate and slightly different than most would recognize. 

despite that i think most people would be able to connect to the message even if they dont see themselves as God.
