Homebreakin' Records is pleased to present Calle Del Espiritu Santo, the debut collaborative release from Thievery Corporation’s Rob Garza and Canadian Deep House producer Neighbour.

While touring the continent last festival season, collaborators Rob Garza and Neighbour found themselves inspired by the culture of music and rebellion they found in the most unlikely places. "Calle Del Espiritu Santo" started as a working title from a place that held the festive spirit they both were vibing - a street in the Malasana neighborhood of Madrid where, as Rob remembers, underground culture congregates to party without judgment.

“1975” was Xinobi’s debut album and is now being remixed Finally, the second volume of remixes sees the sun. 

It starts with a monumental deep techno remix by SwitchSt(d)ance, that takes “Polana” to a territory of spiritual surrender. We’ve seen this being played at 5 a.m. and everyone went mental and goosebumpy. It is an epic tune for surreal dance-floor moods. 

The Argentinian Richie Hell signs two remixes for “Mom And Dad” reminiscent of the classy sexiness of Claptone. These gems get so hip-appealing you barely can resist… even if you suffer from dancing-shyness. 

From Colombia, the Bogotá kings Discoholycs and Felipe Gordon deliver a House with jazzy elements bomb. A pure danceable bliss that can be played any place in the world having dancers chanting “Hey People” all together. 

Finally, London nicest kid Jonjo Jury gives his Narco Disco vibe to the originally happy “Real Fake” growing in the original anthem a darker vibe that would suit his club Trash and Durr residencies easily.

“Mental Mother” can sound like the title to a gothic themed short story or Black Mirror episode, but the song itself has utopian strains, the synth progressions are uplifting, there is a feeling of assurance and warmth, the minds work prodvucing a nurturing mother, a better day, a sustaining world.

With every track on the EP, Project Sandro articulates cinematic and lush environs. With restraint and elegance the songs build soundscapes that give the listener room to engage with a range of emotions from the dark and foreboding to the light of some resolved clarity. Project Sandro does this at their own pace, nothing feels forced or contrived, there are no sleight of hands or overt manipulations, like all good art the songs have faith in their intent. The listener is offered a sense of place that they can inhabit, the specifics provided by our subjectivity, the songs rhythms carrying us to our destinations. Project Sandro’s first Ep is an assured offering and sets the standard for what hopefully will be a prolific oeuvre.
