ICTUSCORDIS is an new media performance / audio-visual laboratory with the main subject the human heart.
 Januš Aleš Luznar invites his audience to an intimate journey of his heartbeat. 

The project explores interaction between art and psychology, between physical and mental organisms. Although they speak different languages, which are difficult to translate,  
the artist searches for their coincidental and non conclusive parallels through which they communicate. 

Januš Aleš Luznar uses Biofeedback method as an artistic inspiration, so he manipulates the arousal, intensity and tempo of his heart with various mixing techniques and sounds. 
No looping or sampling is used for the performance.

He uses a custom made interface / an analog circuit preamplifier, with an electronically adapted stethoscope and manipulates with the sound of his heart in 
real time, with the use of various mixing techniques and sound processing modules and effects. Produced sound is also interpreted into a digital form, where the sound spectrum and velocity are split. 
Digital signal than triggers changes in the visualizations which results in a series of abstract rhythmical visualizations. The artist also changes the visual scenes depending on the arrangement of the sound.
All modulations in the performance are in real time. 

The heart in the performance significantly exceeds the field of metaphor, it becomes an actual, live musical and visual instrument. 

With the ICTUSCORDIS performance, artist invites the audience in his consecrated space of artistic and spiritual intimacy and urges visitors to be taken 
away by sounds and visualizations of his heart. The performance aims to awake an awareness through listening and observing. To find oneself in the heartbeat of the other is to recognize 
the connection between all.
