Me being a lawyer or a detective or working in criminal justice or psychology doesn't seem to align with my circumstances or who I am.
I just can't see myself going down those paths.

Computers though....


Okay so I WANT to take this pathway into Computer Science and Information Technology, that's "the branch" so to speak;

what I'm having a hard time is, is choosing which major to specialize in:
- Computer Science
- Information Technology
- Information Systems Technology
- Cybersecurity

I don't see myself engineering (building things has always been so lofty and difficult for me),
nor developing either.
I like to analyze data and theorize.

I think Computer Science would be great, but I would have to learn a language.
If I must, I will.

Or Information Systems Technology, with those specializations like cloud computing and such, which I have no idea what it is.


Will sleep on it and ask Hirad about it,
he's the one that gave me $1,000

he's in IT and I should ask him for advice.

and hopefully to NOVA on Tuesday

I want to do this,
I want to be the change I want to be.

Make this sacrifice and take a leap of faith for financial stability in the future.
Especially when my dad dies.
Take the stress off of myself during his last years.
Make him comfortable and maybe even bury my mother.

And him.

And him....


This will be my mom's birthday present.
Bettering myself so I can better my family.

I could watch movies all day, waiting for something to happen (usually nothing does)
or I can take a leap of faith, use those hours into getting a degree.

I should talk to an adviser first,
I looked at the campus map and on parking and the hours,
I could go on Tuesday and ask about applying to go to college,
how I could take classes while holding a full-time job.

I'm desperate for change
and that's okay.

Desperation is good.

It means I know what I want
and I'm heightened with passion, dedication, persistence and perseverance.

Being a nurse isn't for me,
but being a CNA is different.
Far different.

I want to do this.

Either a Career Studies Certificate
or an Associates Degree.

I was looking at the CSC Cloud Computing
and the Computer Science: Cloud Computing Specialization at NOVA.

2 semesters vs. 4 semesters.

1 year vs. 2.

My main desperation is financial security seeing how my dad is getting older,
and working from home is a plus.

Two years would be a better outlook and projection seeing I would be hired more easily with a degree vs. a certificate.
Although I have work experience, it's not experience that pertains to computers.

I should seek information first and then go from there.

Maybe a counselor could help me.


Financial security could help me pivot from not having to wait for my mom to be buried too.....

I make about.... $54k gross.
I would need at least $66k to meet the bare minimum if my dad dies.

I can take a financial risk because of my credit limit.
And it would pay off....
