Tipped by Pete Tong as 'New Names' for 2018 and firmly cemented in the playlists of the world’s A-List House & Techno DJ’s, OC & Verde are names on everybody’s radars this year. 

Their big breakthrough came in 2016 with 'Maasai’ on Hot Since 82’s label 'Knee Deep In Sound', which racked up an Essential New Tune plus a Beatport Number 1.

The duo then went on to make releases on Truesoul, Octopus, Suara and Bedrock, which gained heavyweight support from the likes of Adam Beyer, Solomun, Joesph Capriati, Maya Jane Coles, Sasha, John Digweed, Tale Of Us and Maceo Plex. 

This consistency was noticed by the godfather of dance Pete Tong, who invited the duo into the BBC Radio 1 Studios to be interviewed live on air as part of his ‘Final Credits’ feature, where they also got to deliver a 40 minute ‘Tag Team Mix’. 

OC & Verde’s presence on Radio 1 has continued to resonate across the station with Danny Howard awarding them his ‘Friday Fire’ accolade for their seminal remix of Eli & Fur’s ‘Around You’ which also hit the Top 10 on Beatport's techno charts.

Some people might argue that you are running from reality or that you are trying to hide, but what is reality in the first place? 

The moment I turn to music, I do not escape “the real world”, I enter it. It is my reality, full of my emotions. We all know, life can be tough. Especially when it comes to everyday life, we tend to loose focus of the things that make us happy. Fortunately, I have found my way to avoid being soaked into a pattern of constantly repeating things I do not burn to do. As soon as I start DJing, playing live or start producing a new track, I feel free, I feel like me. I loose track of the time, thus making the most of me. Psychologists call it FLOW.

So, I am inviting you to join me and experience happiness and freedom through music. Just be.the.flow. 

Every time I start working on a new piece of music, I am aiming towards these unique moments of observing the crowd going crazy about it, being lost in music and having entered their own reality. For me personally, there is nothing more powerful than these moments full of emotion, touching people’s hearts and releasing the urge to dance. All the tracks I produce should fulfill this criteria. "

The Berlin-based DJ and producer consistently demonstrates a deeply an- chored love for and close bond to house music – the art form he himself has tamed. As a DJ, he travels the globe since 2001, having played in Europe, Australia, Thailand, Brazil, the US and Mexico, and in his sets he creates a feeling of connectedness between himself and others, as well as within the crowd. 
His first music on Autist Records, the label on which he subsequently releases his debut LP, ‘The Autistic Disco’, in May 2009, gathers the attention of many top DJs, such as Jeremy P. Cauleld, Ivan Smagghe and Mendo. It is only a matter of time before Oliver Koletzki takes notice of Niko’s productions and his DJ skills. Said skills subsequently see him embark on a hectic touring schedule: whether it’s Sao Paulo’s D Edge, Sydney’s Spice Cellar, Zurich’s Hive, Paris’ Showcase, or Berlin’s Watergate – Niko’s energetic and precise sets thrill any international crowd, something he’s out to prove in 2014: while he’ll be touring Brazil in May, Niko will return to the US for a second time in July.
