After a summer break and a few
 events launched in Bordeaux and Lisbon, @scenecityeu makes its return on Mutant. The concept is still the same for the platform: to showcase the local musical landscape of a few cities through the lens of local artists. This new episode is dedicated to the
 Vilnius scene. 
Together with its partner @palanga_street_radio,
 Scene city invited @quaintas who has been active in the local scene for over eight years. Currently he is a resident show host at @palanga_street_radio with his monthly show ENTR'ACTE and duo project COOL AIR. He is also a collective member of @minimal-lt
 who have run the electronic music night Minimal Mondays since 2006. In this mix, Quaint pieces together a personal perspective of the Vilnius electronic music scene, pacing through the best of its more experimental and melancholic side.

In the third episode of Conceptual Disco, we look at the art of sampling in early house and techno and how producers reused fragments of disco, soul, and gospel records to build something entirely new. Using the Acapella Anonymous series as a case study, we explore how these isolated voices and grooves became the building blocks of underground dance music. Featuring a guest set by All Dave.

Deze maand ben ik samen met mijn gasten op zoek gegaan naar kennis.
Kennis van de wereld om ons heen, maar ook kennis over de individuele reis die we daarin maken.

Ik ga in gesprek met Stijn Kemper, curator van het oudste boekenmuseum ter wereld (173 jaar): Huis van het Boek.
We duiken in drie bijzondere tentoonstellingen:

- Al het weten van de wereld

- Emily Hunt: meer magie

- Mythes en mogelijkheden.

We praten over zijn liefde voor literatuur, de kracht van verhalen, en over hoe een goed verzonnen verhaal soms de werkelijkheid zelf kan vertroebelen, toen en nu.

Daarna ga ik in gesprek met Nelgina Khensani over haar ontroerende voorstelling HELDENDAAD.
In deze voorstelling deelt ze haar eigen interculturele adoptieverhaal, en haar ervaringen met het Nederlandse adoptiesysteem.

Met HELDENDAAD wil ze het taboe rond dit thema doorbreken en ruimte creëren voor dialoog over veelal het onbegrip en de onderwaardering van dit onderwerp. De voorstelling gaat over het adoptieverhaal van twee zussen die in Nederland terecht komen en werpt een blik op de complexe reis van een adoptiegezin.

Starting his musical journey in the bars and cellars of Vilnius more than 7 years ago, Quaint can now be seen behind the decks of most of the cities' nightlife institutions. 

Primarily known as a house DJ he is not afraid to explore all its sub-genres as well as quirkier and more distant corners of electronic music. As he puts it himself  - "This mix marks an end of one cycle in my creative endeavours and signifies a start of another. A journey with a breaksy start evolving into a more conventional 4x4 beat with underlying atmospheric synth lines and percussion heavy drum lines. Stay safe and enjoy!" ⚡️⚡️⚡️
