Diese Folge möchte ich einem meiner absoluten Lieblingskünstler widmen, welcher viel zu früh verstorben ist: Mac Miller. Immer wieder verliebe ich mich in die Produktion seiner Alben und möchte euch in dieser Episode eine kleine Einführung in sein Werk geben. Mac Millers Alben reichen von frühen Rap-lastigen Produktion bis zu seinen zwei posthum erschienenen Alben Swimming und Circles, die in eine deutlich jazzigere Richtung gehen. Während seine frühen Songs eine sommerliche Leichtigkeit malen, sind seine älteren Songs von einer tiefen Abgründigkeit gezeichnet, in welcher Mac über das Leben und weitere Themen philosophiert.

Met Poëzie in Carré III in het verschiet en De eerste poëzie in Carré in gedachten zijn Jos Nargy en Joep Hendrikx enige tijd geleden begonnen met de Poezieboys. Het succes is zo groot dat zij voor de zesde keer de Poezieboys XL organiseren in de Koninklijke Schouwburg, dit keer inclusief een dansbare nachtprogrammering en uiteraard het gesproken woord.


Voor de zesde keer veranderen zij de Koninklijke Schouwburg van het Nationale Theater in een poëzieclub waar alles samenkomt. Ik ga met Jos in gesprek over de krachtige en diverse line-up die ze voor deze editie wisten te strikken: Roan Kasanmonadi, Elly de Waard, Bob Vanden Broeck en Anne Hazeleger, om er maar een paar te noemen.


Jos is zelf een groot nachtdier en is dan ook trots op het poëtische nachtprogramma dat is opgetuigd in de vorm van de Poezierave, ook wel Club Paradise genoemd. Jos vertelt met een brede glimlach over de afwisseling van dansbare platen met het gesproken woord, verzorgd door het Haagse poëtische collectief FFÛH en henzelf. De kaarten gaan hard en er zijn er nog maar een paar beschikbaar.

In this show I will explore the feeling of unrequited love: love which is not returned. Yet the feeling of love is still there, in your heart, in everything you do and in the music. Dance rythms, samples and emotional musical motives are improvised, expressing these feelings using my trusty Novation Launchkey MK4 and Ableton Live. The show is hosted by me, Phil-T, with a guest every episode telling their own stories in music regarding their experience with unrequited love.
