Burning Man Mixes

Pulling from tracks I've collected over the past few years, this is a lovely selection of musical treats for all ages and any occasion.  This was our soundtrack for the final hours of 2021 as we bid a fond farewell to a year we won't soon forget.  It's two parts light, one part dark, a splash of love, a sprinkling of admiration, mixed and shaken fiercely over ice.

A Day at the Beach Mix

The fine folks of Funky Town invited me back in 2022 to play some tunes on their brand new DJ booth.  For the first Burning Man in 3 years I focused on music that would bring people together, put smiles on their faces, and get them moving.  This was played on Monday later afternoon into pre-sunset, and you can almost picture  the people cruising by on bikes, trikes, and art cars.

I ended up playing longer than expected to fill in for my buddy @nick-stene which gave me a chance to play a bunch of my brand new tracks and also dip into some of my recent classics.  This is the only recording I managed to get from my 3 sets on playa this year so it's great I was able to get through a bunch of tracks.

Early in the week, I kicked off Prism for its second year in style with a dancey mix of house, tech house, and bass house.  The Fauxliage crew was there to support and show appreciation to this majestic beauty.

I Hear the Music

Our Burning Man camp, Fauxliage, threw a party at DecoDance in San Francisco to raise some FUN (and also hopefully some funds) to help us do our thing on playa this year.  An excellent group of of lovely people made for a stupendous night of dancing and smiles.  Thanks for everyone who was there, and see you on playa!

On Wednesday night the rain had finally stopped and the clouds cleared away.  We started the music at sunset and kept it going until the wee hours.  The one and only Tokimonsta brought us a wonderful set of energetic tunes of all types, and I took over after her to keep the grooves moving.  Thank you to everyone at Fauxliage and everyone who came inside our dome to bring us your energy and smiles.  We definitely needed this night after the week we had leading up to it!

Very late on a Saturday night, I pulled out some of my favorite tracks.  I hadn't yet had the right moment to share most of these with anyone before. Deeper Into Night, Live @ Hermosa Grove, Saturday Night 2019

I joined Smile High on Monday night, along with @trashpanda, and we kicked off the week of Burning Man 2019 with a bang.  We caught up with the car around 12:30am and cruised around for the next few hours.

This was one of those times when DJ and dance floor were totally in sync.  I felt like I could go anywhere musically and play anything, and everyone was right there with me.  We had a blast together!  This was played totally free style, and I brought out some tracks I had never played before.

Monday Afternoon @ Funky Town - Burning Man 2019

Burning Man 2020 will be remembered forever as the one that didn't happen, or did it?  This is music that moves me on the inside and outside and I played it on a live video stream for many of my closest friends to celebrate burn night 2020.

My mission in life is to spread love of music.  I'm passionate about making, finding and sharing music that moves me.

Dallas Kashuba has been a DJ and music producer for over 25 years.  His eclectic musical journey of punk rock singer in the early 90s, DJ in the LA rave scene in the late 90s, live electronica band in the 00s, and then playing synths and electronics with a San Francisco psychedelic rock band in the 10s illustrates his diverse influences and skills.  In recent years he’s DJ’d and provided musical direction for the Sanctuary art car in Black Rock City, and appears regularly behind the decks in San Francisco.  His music draws from his wide range of musical experiences, flows seamlessly from one style to another, and you never know what’s coming next.
