SYNK is a DJ duo from Norway consisting of the two producers Naomi Camilla & Ida Stein. Their sets are eclectic, playful and they often blend wavy synths and light percussions with heavier stuff and they are not unfamiliar with some funky basslines aswell. The duo's in the landscape of electro, techno and breakbeats. Occasionally they also add elements of disco and trance in the mix.

Ornella has been a fixture in Oslo’s clubbing scene since before she was a DJ. A regular presence on the dance floors of Villa and Jaeger, Ornella eventually made the leap to the other side of the booth, encouraged by peers that had seen a nascent talent. 

Her presence on dance floors are still consistent, but in recent years she’s been orchestrating it, rather than participating in it. Known for sets that cultivate mood and atmosphere, Ornella has been a favourite in DJ booths around Oslo and further afield. When she’s not in the booth she’s facilitating the scene with her work as the booker for Gehor, adding to the rich sonic landscape of the city. 

Ornella makes her debut on Jaeger Mix with a 2 hour sonic journey through House music’s extended reach in an atmospheric and airy progression.

Personal favourites, obscurities included, for sure. Surrounded by plants, but you won't hear that. SYNK (Ida Stein & Naomi Straume Moen) joined Karmaklubb* at the Munch Museum, Ingensteds, Khartoum Contemporart Art Center (KCAC), and more in 2019, and most recently the 'House of Love!!!' and Kulturhuset. The Sandefjord-duo blends dreamy synthesizers with playful percussion (even Russian 80s samples!) with harder electronic music; techno, hardcore, 90s acidic stuff, breakbeats, house, even elements of trance. Eclectic, sometimes even challenging, but always surprising — joyful! — serving pleasures for body/mind. This is the sixth time they enter the space of good karma*, unfortunately virtual, but still creating nice vibes (normally a good view, too).  SYNK are sort of in residence this spring and summer. But due to C19, Karmaklubb* are doing a selection of live streamings: DJ sets, concerts, talks, and more — served by the most generous and trusted beings. See you on the other side!

Karmaklubb* is a nomadic queer club concept and conversational platform. An open space for meeting amazing people, 'high quality clubbing', exploring taste. Celebrations of good things. Apart from club evenings and nights the programme consists of open conversations — such as the ‘Thought & pleasure sessions’ — curatorial work, screenings, artist talks, panels, concerts, performance, wine tastings, and sometimes food. And now: live streaming sessions. Karmaklubb* has also launched its own brew, and a publishing house, the IGWTLI publishing. During the last two years Karmaklubb* has hosted more than 40 events of various sorts — at clubs, museums, art spaces, festivals, and other events — and is probably the most active club concept of its kind in Norway. Karmaklubb* was established in 2013, going public in 2018. The tiny asterisk [*] is still left: 'Girls & such. All welcome.'

FOR NERDS
'telecommunication' (n.): 1932, from French 'télécommunication' (see 'tele-' [far, far off, operating over distance] + 'communication' [act of communicating, act of imparting, discussing, debating, conferring]) (Online Etymology Dictionary). The icon of the lifebuoy with light, smoke, and line is normally used as a nautical safety sign. Very symbolic, yes.
