Great EP my copy landed in the mail yesterday 

Once again — the genius Italian duo is back on Delayed, this time with a premiere from the fifth release on their eponymous label. 
Orion have been consistently defying boundaries within house and dub techno, and this EP is no different. Dear Blue, the A2 track, is a bright, house-y slow-burner. Starting out with a kick drum with airy pads above it, before a gleaming melody enters and lightens the track’s mood even more. The sample makes the track quite trippy and nostalgic, and the percussion gives it a dance-y feel, making the track all in all perfect for dance floors — whether during a warmup set or a peak time set. 
Due to COVID-19, the “Cinque” EP’s release date is yet to be determined, but hopefully, it will be out sometime within the next month.

PREMIERE: Orion - Dear Blue [Orion]

We are beyond excited about today's premier hitting close to home! Following the last month's debut under the Moon Patrol moniker on 'The Meaning of Time III' compilation, our very own Gilles Wasserman is releasing his first EP! Long time in the making, the five-track "Emma's Hiding" EP produced together with his life partner Irina Kotik sees the light via the Leipzig-based A Friend In Need record label.
Each track on the EP explores a particular range of, sometimes uneasy, emotions. Each built on a rich, contrasting sonic palette of the intricate organic beats and the dreamy, slightly melancholic melodies refined by the openly computerized, synthetic elements. The inherent difference between the two creates a curious harmonic tension, like a call for spiritual decoding of humanity extending ourselves across a posthuman machine-hybrid world.
Closing the journey, EP's namesake "Emma's Hiding" is an introspective, airy saga gradually evolving into a wonderfully unsettling hypnotic state. Once wandering beats decisively settle the pace; floating soundscapes arise onto a peaceful, reflective background; and the crisp, casually nostalgic keyboard melody merges with a robotic, albeit still in analog form, roll call; and you have a feeling of figuring it all out - the voice sample adds an unexpected dimension, steering the thoughts towards the greater vitality of our still socially gated human connections.

'Following the release of 2015’s Animistas album on Mindtours, Steevio returns with the fourth and final volume in the Modular Techno series after starting the project in 2012. 
Initially conceived in 2009 as he moved his studio practice towards a purely outboard, analogue, modular synthesiser set up, the Modular Techno series has charted the development of Steevio’s exploration of this working practice both on record and on stage. The work involved in live appearances across the UK and Europe over the past four years have fed into the creative process, with rehearsals for sets often yielding the material that has ended up on vinyl. 
Volume 4 is arguably the darkest instalment in the series to date, dealing in a strict economy of minimalist rhythms and off-key melodic touches while still easily identified as the unmistakable tones and distinctive grooves of Steevio. In the grand tradition of techno as visionary music, the dystopian tone that lingers throughout Modular Techno Vol 4 points to a future of uncertainty, but this is far from nihilistic music; always within the darkness remains a glimmer of hope.' - words Oli Warwick
