@heltermusic returns to Truth Radio with another EP of skipping electro/house rhythms, shimmering pads and glistening minor-key melodies. More for headphones than dancefloors, Fold builds and dissipates in intensity over six tracks, each with a warm, analogue-based palate and a digital sheen. The beats have slowed to a mid-pace, giving space to a delicate patchwork of synths and rhythmic components that ebb and flow throughout, not unlike Floating Points or Patricia. Fans of Helter’s earlier underground house releases won’t be disappointed, but Fold offers much more texture and depth.
