4. Stark Mercy

As some of you may have experienced in your life, I also have been left wondering....How in the world could she possibly EVER have fallen for another?  Well, in this song, that exact situation is addressed!  While listening to the song, put yourself in the position of the songwriter and wonder with me while the songwriter tries to make sense of the unconscionable!

I chose to create an 'a cappella' version of this song which harkens back to the 'Doo-Wop' style of production---I hope you like it!  I assembled a group of guys who sing in this style to assume the vocal duties---they did a GREAT job, if you close your eyes while you're listening to their great vocal work, you'll feel as if you are on any street corner in Philadelphia during the late-50s and early-60s, from where many of the great vocal Doo-Wop singers originated!  Enjoy the song!  

PS~ Let me know what you think of the song and if this situation has ever applied to you!  Although I am slightly-biased, I love this song!!!   A seriously-heavy Rock 'n' Roll version of this song, with MY lead vocal, is currently being produced and will be posted here upon its completion!  Stay tuned!

I Want To Be Your Lover!

This is an upbeat and happy song about being sad from the ending of a relationship!  So many out there choose to turn their heads from the fact that a relationship, like anything else in life that is worth-while, takes hard work,  dedication, and continued nurturance.  Some still choose to give-up and leave as soon as the relationship hits a 'bump-in-the-road.'  My saying has always been, "When the going gets tough, the tough stick-around!" Why'd You Have To Throw It All Away?

Founding member of 'The Ides of Mark' in 1978, and later co-founder (with Robert) of the Connecticut-based group, 'Pioneer,' Mark has re-emerged with new Original music in his signature style, with enhanced production and arrangements afforded now through the advances in digital recording technologies.  Mark, formerly a High-School Teacher, is an Entrepreneur, Lionel-Train enthusiast, and an avid song-writer, with influences that range from Buddy Holly to Brian Wilson & Jan Berry, and back again to Buddy Holly!  In Pioneer, Mark primarily was Rhythm Guitarist, Lead Vocals, Backing Vocals, and shared the songwriting duties with Robert.  Today, as in the days of Pioneer, Mark performs all of the same tasks in addition to both Upright-Grand Piano and Electronic Keyboards.  With Robert in the Production Booth, these songs have been brought to a point at which, they enjoy a life of their own!
