IDEX alumna Averil Spencer will discuss the importance of using the IDEX experience to find your voice. She'll share her personal story on how she used her fellowship experience to build a thriving social enterprise that is changing the life of girls across India. 

Averil Spencer (2010 IDEX alumn) is the Co-Founder and former Executive Director of VOICE 4 Girls, an innovative life skills program for adolescent girls in low-income communities in India. As the Executive Director, Averil crafted the strategic direction, mission, and vision of the organization. She developed partnerships and processes to scale the organization to over 7,000 girls in three states. Averil is currently pursuing a joint degree from MIT’s Sloan School of Management and the Harvard Kennedy School where she is merging business skills with knowledge about gender and development. Prior to joining IDEX, Averil graduated from Dartmouth College with a degree in Women’s and Gender Studies.
