This is the first cover we recorded for the Idle Hands project. When i First heard this song i was hooked instantly, and we really enjoy his work. We love you Mr. J. Tillman!

Idle Hands - Well You Can Do It (Father John Misty cover)

This is our third cover, this time more of a rework of Leonard Cohen's classic 80's track 'First we take Manhattan'.

Recorded the drums, guitar and vocals live and layered the rest, shakers, electric guitars, bass, musical saw, melodica, backing vox and a bowed bouzouki for the 'plywood violin'.

Jacques and Gert (MCATJ) coverd this song in 2008.  This version was made entirely acoustic, cuz Kraftwerk is electronic. Found it in the archives and thought it would like to be on the interwebs.

Idle Hands is a cover project started by Jacques Du Plessis (Mr. Cat & The Jackal, Taleswapper) and Tara Bakkes (Julia Robert , The Fads) purely for fun, and to keep them out of trouble. The songs covered are those that inspired or motivated them musically, and stuck with them, so expect anything from classic rock, golden oldies to pop ect. They're open to suggestions aswel. They will choose, record and release a cover song every now and then for their own pleasure.
