Damn this summer is flyyyying by. We’ve been spending a huge amount of time in the studio, recording with some amazing vocalists and writing a ton of music, but lucky for you we only release our favorite ones (smirky face emoji). This remix here is one of those, and to us it combines some of the best feeeels from this summer’s club life. 

Definitely check out the original track, and the music video, that shit is dope. @Basement-Jaxx laid down a hell of a track and Elliot Marshall's vocals float perfectly on top. We loved the dreamy style of the original production and wanted to retain the feel good euphoric nature but also flip it into something much harder that would go off in the club. 

Who are TKDJS - 2 out of 3 are true// 

1) We love NYC but have a serious crush on Cali
2) Our musical experience includes a combined 23 years of DJing, 14 years of producing and 6 months playing the Vienna Glockenspiel
3) We wrote an acoustic guitar version of Fetty Wap’s “Trap Queen” but refuse to play it unless we’re sitting around a campfire or flying on a PJ

Idlemind was formed in early 2003 by Youssef Altay (Drums), Mohamed Ibrahim (Vocals/Guitars), and Kareem Maghrabi (Guitars). Jacques Avakian (Bass) joined the band later in December of the same year. Sometime in early 2006, Maghrabi relocated and had to leave the band, and so the other three members were forced to carry on without him. In late 2006, due to Maghrabi's relocation and several internal issues, the band separated. In early 2007 the band got back together, and possibilities of Maghrabi's return arised. By early 2011, it was clear Maghrabi was not coming back, and due to several more internal issues, the band went on hiatus again. A year later, Jack brought the band together again, and they've started writing new material and recording select tracks from the old material they had. Throughout this time, Idlemind had written material encompassing 3 full length albums, two of which are partially recorded.

The main idea among the band members was to create music free of all genre and taste restrictions, free of stereotypes, and free of cliches. The band members all live in the same city (Cairo, Egypt). A city that has become overrun by several musical stereotypes. The band wanted to show people that good music does not necessarily mean popular music, and that one can afford to like different genres, rather than worship one. Music written in Idlemind is always music from the heart, and wether it comes out acoustic or hardcore is not an issue. The fact that each member of the band played or is still playing in some other band contributes to the overall experience of the band, although the members are starting to realize that Idlemind is really the only band for them. Songwriting in Idlemind takes a completely different approach than in the members' older bands. Each member contributes to the song being written, be it lyrically or musically. Every song has each member's signature on it, and that's what makes each song unique to itself and to the band. Although several songs that are still played were written by members no longer in the band, Idlemind will always be a home for them and their music. 

Idlemind was initially formed to make music, and not to sell it. But we think if music had a price tag, this would be priceless.
