We had two songs that individually didn't work. So one day while rifling through song lyrics we put them side by side and said, what if...turns out they fit rather nicely, and you have Wind Tunnel. And for the record, don't date a girl like this!

Wind Tunnel

This is an old Police tune I have been in love with since I listened to it on my walkman back in the 80's. We really play up the ethereal aspects of the song and try to do it justice.

Tea In The Sahara

This is a jazz song I wrote about a man whose wife is leaving him after years of marriage. So he makes a desperate attempt to convince her to stay by reminding her of all the memories they have together. One for each day, except Sunday.

Sunday Afternoon

We heard Jamie Cullum do a phenomenal job covering this Rihanna dance hit, and decided to give it a go ourselves. We put our own Idle Poet's flair on it.

Please Don't Stop The Music

In 1995 I was sitting in the hallway of a courthouse waiting for my girlfriend to try and get out of jury duty. And I was thinking, how does George Michael get away with being so provocative in his songs without crossing the line? So I tried to do something similar. 

Problem? I had nothing to write on. So using a borrowed pen from the clerk, I went into the bathroom and pulled all the toilet paper off the roll, and then peeled the paper roll apart and used it as paper. This song was the result. 

It only took me 25 years to record, I hope it was worth it.

Love Or Lust

I had torturing the band for a month as we worked on this really dark and sad song I wrote for a movie soundtrack (it was to be used for a funeral scene). So I sat down determined to write a happy song, so I put happiness right in the title.

Best line? "We're just an ant farm in the universe"

A Little Happiness

I once dated a Russian girl who loved to dance. In fact, she started taking tango lessons and insisted that i come with her. Being left-footed, this wasn't going to happen. So as a peace offering, I wrote her a tango song. The thought was, "Hey baby, I sing, you dance, we're still doing something together, right?"

No, No was the word she wanted me to hang onto there.

So, we eventually broke up, she moved on and married a doctor and had kids. And me, well I got to keep the song. Clearly I got the better end of the deal?

No. No is the word I should hang onto here?

Devils Romance

This is a lesser known Harry Connick Jr. song I love. Been playing it for years so thought we would put it on the record.

Between Us

I was waiting outside a music store that hadn't opened yet, talking on the phone to a female friend of mine who lived on the other side of the country. She was complaining that her boyfriend was using a ton of pet names with her and it drove her crazy. Most of all though, she hated being called 'Baby'.

Being a jerk, after we hung up I took 15 minutes and wrote this song. She said if it ever becomes a hit she would kill me. Come on guys, let's make it a hit!

Best line? "When the light go out can I call you baby...baby?
