An exercise in control of auditory limitations and possibilities, GAEL redefines techno production with their comprehension of cold atmospherics and meticulous world building. Exemplified in their first solo EP ‘Frozen White Horse’ released on BITE Records, fervent, hurtling drums are underpinned by hopeful euphorics and circulating, breathy cybernetics. A culmination of sophisticated sonic dialects reared from the intersections of soundscaping and electronic music, the berlin-based DJ/Producer from Dagestan (by-way-of Kyiv and Odesa) commits their practice to the inclusivity of borderless, capricious and emotive dance-floor synergy. This energy was previously captured on BITE last year with their appearances on the Shedding Skin VA and The Soft Moon’s Exister Remixed. GAEL’s harmonic and organic approach to techno production echoes the heartbeat of dancefloor resistance,captivating audiences across venues from Berlin’s Berghain to Kyiv’s ∄ as a resident at the queer event series XITb.

Delivering thunderous feeling through experimental sounds and masterful pacing, the 4-track-EP blurs the margins of moody techno exploration with remarkable attitude and a foreboding sense of uphill struggle. For the opening title track, a procession of stacked chords,synths and snares are met with a cyclone of galloping percussion building to maximum intensity until dispersing into echoey chimes. As the listener is able to catch their breath, the second track ‘prpttcxsstnc’ reignites - this time with trepidatious yet ethereal vibration, as the track continues to inject GAEL’s post-punk style of galvanised energy, rich layered drums maintain the undercurrent of resolute chaos into the following track ‘there is nothing left’. Sombre track titles are off-set by triumphant vigour for the third instalment, pushing through gale force drums and the clanging zaps and bleeps of electronic debris. Concluding with the final cacophony of collaged beats and drums, bellowing siren-like cold wails meld with GAEL’s calamity crescendo of crashing cymbals, the procession of rapturous drums slipping into a distant echo of warped hollow gleams.

Delphosound is a multi-genre DJ producer from Costa Rica, his productions include genres such as,
Techno, hardtechno, EBM, Industrial and downtempo, with sounds inspired by the 80s and 90s,
combining these sounds with electric guitars and dark synths.
He was part of two metal bands in his country, this led him to develop an interest in exploring the production of electronic music,
including analog and digital elements, as well as distorted guitars in many of his productions.
The project has always focused on exploring all types of rhythms adapted to a more powerful and darker atmosphere,
including within their own productions, remixes for artists of genres such as classic hip hop, industrial metal and pop.

The fifth release of e s p e r p e n t o represents a new stage in the journey of rediscovering the past of the flourishing experimental music scene in the Venetian area.
10 musical projects have been involved in the reinterpretation of the audio material taken from the tape release Curved Bell Mirrors, recorded by the Treviso-based producer Therabaqud Leic and originally issued on his own label, Ministry of Ultramarine Theatres in 1988.

Surrealist echoes, distorted reflections, and natural textures come alive in both music and images, enclosed in a limited-edition photographic fanzine. The fanzine also offers access to a restored version of Therabaqud Leic’s original work, completing an audiovisual journey that expands the boundaries of a medium as it has traditionally been conceived.

Vicious Creatures w/ Lárus + Foundry 26.03.19

Episode 6 comes from Co-Founder and Resident of the raucous Glasgow club night ‘Foundry’. Craigen is a DJ we have followed closely over the past couple of years since first hearing him at the now defunct but infamous Soma after parties. Since those days he regularly holds down Thursday nights at Glasgow Club La Cheetah where foundry have brought some of the scenes most forward thinking artists to the Glasgow basement club. Following a long time association with one of Glasgow’s best known party starters ‘Animal Farm’ Craigen appeared at their recent Corsica Studios takeover in coordination with ‘Jaded’ down in London and since then has also a performed headline slot in La Cheetah. Once again this mix showcases something different from the rest of the series with an hour pulsating techno. Fresh off the back of him providing support for Kobosil at Club 69, This is certainly one of our favourite mixes to date and we have been super excited to share it.

IDLESTATES006 - Craigen

FRENETIK019 sees us return to base with local outfit Foundry's Craigen stepping forward to deliver a slamming mix which sees him show off his extensive knowledge of early 2000s hardcore and gabber in an hour of face melting pounders.

Having first come to the attention of ours through the infamous and now defunct Soma Afters, Craigen used this opportunity, like many, to cut his teeth in the local scene bagging himself appearances at Pressure as part of the AFYT and supporting the likes of Kobosil amongst others. However, more recently we have seen him holding down a residents spot for Foundry where he can be found ripping the La Cheetah basement a new one with a varied selection of hard techno. Having been a regular fixture at Glasgow's Lunacy over the years, it was only natural that we seen him make his debut at Jaded  @ Corsica Studios at the end of February, a night that we all know is not for the faint-hearted. 

We're delighted to finally have this one out to you all as it's been in discussion since the formation of this series and sitting waiting to go for a wee while now. I hope you all enjoy this as much as we do.
